  2. Howdy all, Does anyone have any experience of using the current MINIMARK 802 N 300 for small gigs? I've read a few things on BC and elsewhere about the old version ( Minimark 802 ) but nothing on the new MINIMARK 802 N 300. Basically I'm looking for a compact lightweight allrounder for £600 ish mainly for home use, but possibly for occasional gigs. The older version seems to struggle with bottom end in larger venues, which I guess shouldn't be a surprise, but the new one is slightly bigger and more powerful (at least at 4 ohms - not sure about 8 ohms) so I wondered if that counts for anything? The type of scenario I'm thinking about is un-mic'd drum kit, small PA for vocals, audience of 50-100 people, in a range of styles. In the past I've used a couple of Peavey rigs with 15in main driver, (mainly a Peavy TNT 150 combo, playing blues and jazz) but that was a loooong time ago. I'm intrigued by the idea of using 8's, and really value compact size and low weight. As an alternative I'm thinking of a Warwick Gnome (200) and 2x TE 1x10 cabs for slightly more money. Cheers!

    New amp

    Gallien-Krueger Legacy 800 or Fusion 800 Genzler Magellan 800 or Kinetix 800
  4. New RBM Range Webpage Ant thoughts?
  5. Those bl00dy arpeggios though 😖
  6. Always LaBella 760FS-S for me. They're 045-105 stainless-steel flats. Not what I'd call bright but bright enough for me through my LFSys Monaco FRFR cab. Never had to change a set but then again I tend to change basses instead of strings 🙂
  7. Those pesky and interfering 90's TV kids eh 🤣
  8. EB Hybrid Slinky shortscale rounds for me, 45-105. I don't like the sound of new strings but these seem to bed in quickly and retain decent tone.
  9. BTW love it, wonder how the leather affects degree of contact at the bridge and neck plate?

  11. Looks like they're bringing their RM series production to the UK, and calling it the UK-RBM series. Website hasn't caught up yet and links are currently 404. There are new cabinets to go with the amplifiers. All very tasty stuff.
  12. If Donald Trump was a bass player and ordered a custom Stingray it would look exactly like that 50th Anniversary model. All that gold! It's horrendous. I'm sure it will be very popular. I wonder if they are offering any other colours for bass players who don't aspire to be Liberace? I'm not keen on any of the new Stingray Special colours either. It's a shame because I'm in the market for another Stingray. That Tech21 Geddy Lee Retirement Fund chorus pedal looks good, though. A bit surprising though, because you don't necessarily associate Geddy Lee with that effect. I know he's used it, but not much.
  13. A small but powerful modular system I put together based around a Moog Mother 32 synth and sequencer. I added a Doepfer LFO A145 for increased modulation possibilities. I also added an Erica PICO DSP for onboard effects such as delays, chorus and reverb. There is a Doepfer mixer A138 and Behringer CP1A power supply. The modules are housed in an official Moog 104 HP case with some rack space left for more modules. The unit is unboxed and comes with mains adapter, patch leads as pictured. There is no midi lead included. The units are in very good condition and the Moog unit was recently serviced. The case has a cosmetic scratch at the front as pictured. I can include some extra rack screws. It’s compact but quite heavy as there is a lot packed into a small space! It is a great introduction to modular with plenty of patch options for experimentation. The Mother 32 has an onboard sequencer and small rubber ‘keys’ so it can be used standalone using headphones or an amp. It can be triggered by external midi or cv controllers. Selling as a complete unit. Pickup preferred but I can post UK only at buyer’s cost. It’s worth looking at reviews of each module to get a better perspective of what they can do. I’ll list on here to see if there is any interest before trying the usual…..
  14. Is there a finer colour scheme?
  15. I've just ordered myself a new soldering station and am planning on replacing the electronics on this bass for new shiny bits so if you are interested in this and want to buy it in it's original form then now's the time, otherwise I will rewire it and include the original parts when it sells.
  16. Still only done that 1 gig in 2023 and literally only brought out when I need to learn a new song for the band which isn't that often.
  17. Hi guys! Yesterday this popped up on my Facebook and I fell in love with it. admittedly, it’s not everybody’s cup of tea, but I’ve never been one for anything normal. I bought it from a lad in Italy (I believe he’s on here somewhere). I paid around £700 for it, not including the postage. I’m not interested in what people think it’s worth. I am, however interested to find any information about it or if anyone else has ever seen it before or has anything similar. For example: was it done as a limited edition in the factory (it says limited edition on the stock).. was it done as an aftermarket modification.. Whatever the answers are, I’m very excited to get this on stage because I think it’s wonderful. fyi - it’s not real snake skin I’m assuming it’s some form of leather wrap.
  18. Need to move this on, offers welcome.
  19. Yes, a nice feature of the MFD pickups is the individually adjustable pole pieces. According to the G&L website a modern L-1000 fretboard radius is 9 1/2”, so the Harley Benton Precision kit I’ve ordered should be the same. I’m more concerned about string spacing - the MFDs are designed for roughly 18.25mm rather than Precision 19mm - but I’m going to see how it all works as is and adjust as necessary!
  20. Got to say, I do like the look of those Cort GB shortscales. They look a lot of fun. Almost tempting for £299 And I didn't see the Quad Cortex Mini coming. A little friendly competition for the Anagram perhaps? This can only be a good thing for both platforms
  21. Without the true sense of self-deprecation of their early days and the heavy power they were capable of...
  22. Mmmm…Headed or Headless ? ‘All right now ‘ or ‘Reign in blood ?’ Slap , pick , fingers or all ?🤔🙂
  23. I was the first customer to have Status fit a graphite neck to my 70s jazz bass. It felt great, but ultimately the shift in the mids took something away from its character. I hear the same when listening to Mark playing his Status and Jaydees; both great, it just depends on your preference.
  24. The EHX was posted on another forum last week and was partially responsible for my mini rant about consumer grade computer connectors and external PSUs with no-latching connectors earlier in this thread.
