  2. Beautiful bass - looks so right with the big Hagstrom-type single pickup . The recent ones with P pickups may be very worthy, but just don't look right IMHO. One of the few semi's I've never owned - maybe one day.....
  3. A bit more Latin joy, this is the complete Michael Viñas performance of the tune 'Adan Garcia' from the 1992, Rubén Blades record 'Amor Y Control'. Simple once you have the thing down (root five octave mostly but pushing every bar so great for learning to master that feel). https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/adan-garcia-ruben-blades/
  4. I guess one guy's hell is another guys heaven; I remember when in Liverpool Uni around 1980, seeing one of the NWOBHM bands (Saxon maybe?) playing the student union; predictably loud but not crazy loud. I saw one guy in the audience spend most of the gig with his head inserted fully into the sub cab of the speaker stack - I doubt that he had a functioning brain by the end of it, let alone his hearing. As posted here; modern gear is so much more adaptable for playing at a range of volumes; both guitarists in my band play through smallish all valve combos and get a great sound at comfortable volume level. We recently auditioned for a drummer - an eye-opener for me, as it's been a while. One guy turned up with a kit that would have put Cozy Powell's to shame for sheer size, plus his own PA. He mic-ed himself up to it, and before playing put on a pair of big industrial type ear defenders. Sure enough he was shockingly loud; nothing could be heard except drums, and though the guy clearly had technical ability, he totally overplayed absolutely everything. Spot eventually went to a guy from the Charlie Watts school of drumming; tight, precise as a Swiss watch, and able to play reasonably quietly when needed......
  5. @prowla and I are checking about an additional room at the same location. To be honest I think were both overwhelmed at the uptake. My main concern is that there's enough power/sockets. There's no agenda/running order or anything as of yet, so we would be grateful if anyone has invited speakers/demo guys that we're let known ahead of the curve. More later.
  6. Played my first big stage and ran across it - I was not wireless. Fortunately, I plugged back in in time to hit the signature riff. It was recorded and you can just hear the crackle as I reconnect.
  7. Multiple rooms are really useful @Sean- hence why the previous venue we used in Addlestone, courtesy of @Hamster, was so good over the years. But I'm sure we can find a way to make this venue work, and it's great that you've found somewhere that we can get together in this year. Besides, not everyone who says they can make, gets there on the day, and people don't all arrive at the same time either. So, I'm sure it'll be fine. FWIW, I was heavily involved in running the SE Bash for years, so if you want to have a chat about anything, just send me a PM - I'm more than happy to help. Cheers Nik
  8. Hi, yeah both 4x10 cabs are still available at the moment
  9. Once kicked off the second set with a great sound on stage, until the end of the first number when someone out front told us the PA wasn’t on.
  10. There's always a moment when you look at the paint drying and think "maybe I can make this work?", but no. I can't pull off a hot pink bass.
  11. Hmm 🤔. Ah that’s it, a fire engine driven by Margot Robbie.

  14. Price drop - £135 includes UK postage Hi, I’m selling my Aguilar Octamizer version 2. Well looked after and very little use. £185 price includes UK Postage. Here’s a bit of info from Aguilar: AN ALL-ANALOG OCTAVE PEDAL THAT CREATES A WIDE RANGE OF MUSICAL SOUNDS AN OCTAVE BELOW YOUR BASS SIGNAL. Modeled with old school and new school needs in mind, the Octamizer features independent volume controls for both the Clean and Octave sounds. This makes dialing in the exact amount of each a cinch. The two discrete signal paths also have their own tone controls that were specifically designed to enhance and expand their musical possibilities. The CLEAN TONE control uses a full spectrum tilt EQ, allowing for the boosting of treble while cutting bass or boosting of bass while cutting treble. This unique circuit allows you to create a clean sound that creates an octave doubling effect or to blend the sounds together for a great thick, snarky synth tone. *Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only. Not included. Proprietary detector circuit for superior tracking Continuously variable multipole low-pass filter for Octave sound Dual filter architecture Full spectrum tilt EQ for clean sound Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only. Not included. Cheers! Michael
  15. Here’s the dimensions straight from the Aguilar website. I think it’s in inches. Hope this helps! Cheers!
  16. Price drop to £380 Hi Everyone, I’m selling my Sennheiser EW 100 G4 Wireless Instrument System with Ci1 (E Band) £380 - including UK postage I’ve used this once live and less than a handful of times in a pre-prod environment. Owned for a couple of years and it lived in a rack. Complete with all original parts, plus the extra rack components for mounting and a couple of extra right angle cables for the body pack. Cheers!
  17. I see, thanks for that.
  18. Hi all, sorry for delayed reply. Yes, full scale length (just over 41" 3/4 scale). Retired last year and not really gigged for 'a while' Happy to drive a bit if that helps anyone.
  19. Following with great interest. 😊
  20. I was trying to find a photo from a recent gig which is the only one where we all wore shorts, but there appears to be no photographic evidence. Probably just as well. In our defence, it was ridiculously hot.
  21. They are all pants. Hate them. For an insight into how some of these systems “work”, look up the Maxxbass plugin… the thing is, that still requires **some** bass to work. Not so hot when you’ve high passed all the bass out of your speakers already. Some venues just arent cut out for live music. What these venues should be doing is, is running a band through a silent disco setup and selling that as quirky feature. Neighbours not complaining about noise, the oldies can talk and everybody else can hear how your band doesn’t sound as good as the band thinks it does! 😛
  22. Thanks so much! I just googled it and I guess I found the wrong info. 🙏 🙏 🙏
  23. Is that the one you’re doing for Barbie?
