  2. Only saw this thread now so sorry if it's too late I play a Corvette standard in drop A.. the above advice is correct around filing the nut If that feels drastic, especially with brass, then just use a taperwound low string D'addario do a .135t gauge that sounds stable in a 4-string.. I use the NYXL and you can buy the string on its' own Any taperwound string around 130 or higher will do and the rest of the strings will fit no problem without mods
  3. You're not wrong Russ, but I don't think buying a bass is actually a rational transaction for most people. Particularly with expensive and esoteric basses, there's a certain amount of romance involved. It's significant that a lot of people have mentioned how G&L's major perceived shortcoming was a lack glamour and excitement, leaving them with a worthy but dull image in the minds of too many consumers.
  4. T-Rex Fuel Tank Classic power supply. The dimensions of the FuelTank are: L:15,8 cm H:3,8 cm W:7,6 cm. 10 outputs. Used but fair condition. Price includes UK postage.
  5. Darkglass B7K Ultra (V1). Used but fair condition. Velcro on base. Price includes UK postage.
  6. How are folks finding the MXR Synth Bass pedal? Guessing by the constant state of sold-outness in the UK and Thomann there must be quite a few BCers with them. On Marketplace there were 5 already sold and I'm wondering if that's a usual amount for a very popular bass pedal. Looking to get a 2nd hand one or wait til the new ones become more available.
  7. What a beauty!! ❤️ Have a bump on me 😉
  8. All in good condition and perfect working order. However missing the belt clip from the transmitter. Didn’t affect me as I kept it locked into my strap. Hence bargain at £95. Can possibly post but prefer to meet.
  9. Shure GLXD16 System. This and its successor is easily THE best wireless system going for me. The receiver is a really solid pedal that doubles as probably the best and easiest to use tuner I've ever had on a board (the Quad Cortex tuner never gets used). The system has been gigged by me for years, always looked after but it's all picked up marks here and there over time, all cosmetic and photographed best I can. All is 100% fully functional and has never let me down, from small pub gigs to large outdoor festivals. The system comes in its original box and its power supply. I have never used the supply whilst I've had it, running it off a Cioks, however the supply works fine. Full disclosure, a bit of electrical tape may be in order just to cover up a bit of frayed wire. Few options with this one. £450 gets you the GLXD16 pedal receiver and transmitter in the box with its cable AND a second GLXD1 transmitter (sorry, no spare cable for this one) £350 gets you the GLXD16 system boxed with just the transmitter and cable it came with. £150 gets you one GLXD1 transmitter, if you don't need the rest of the system (again, no cable) Make sense? I'll include Special Delivery next day shipping with all. Prices are set on these really on these, GLXD1 transmitters tend to go around the £180 mark on eBay so the full package is the right deal here! Cheers!
  10. In true BC fashion, this thread is going deliciously off the rails. Two mentions of G&L in 15 posts, in a thread about G&L shutting down. Don't ever change, BC...
  11. I own 3 V7's (1x5 and 2x4's) plus an M2. I love em'. I think Sire are very good value. Wouldn't hesitate buying another. The M6 looks exciting and intimidating (in 5 string). Love to know what they play like?🤔 Have to say there always seems to be used Cort Space's up for sale. Folk don't seem to hang on to them for too long
  12. For those that believe "heft" is a myth, have a little tickle of a good bass through this rig. GLWTS.
  13. Then we agree. My point is why is it such a big deal that a company charges for an add on? Why would anyone expect it for free, or get upset that its not?
  14. I rotate my practice bass but often end up back with my 40th anniversary Squier P. I try (often unsuccessfully) to gig one of my favourites and one of the others. I've managed to gig all my basses except the two Kay short scales, and one of those has done an open mic. Some have only done short sets or a few songs. My main bass from the early 90s got its first full gig (rather than one or two outings for the odd set) in 30 years last weekend. So I rotate basses slowly but do have my favourites.

  16. Thanks for the reply. I've watched both these videos already and apart from these, as yet I don'believe anyone else has posted a review or demo - hence me turning to basschat forum 😊 Thank you too for the advice regarding multi scales generally. I have to say, it's exploring both headless and multi-scale that appeals.
  17. Nick Beggs just paid £15000 for his old Wal Pro bass. I could have bought that bass from a chap in Norfolk in 1995 for about £475 if I remember correctly. I passed because I couldn't be arsed going all the way to Cromer. Thirty years ago Wal would do you a new bass for about £1100-£1200 if you went to the workshop with cash. You could get a decent used MK1 Custom for about £600, maybe a bit less if you were lucky. A new Status Series 1 or Series 2 cost a few hundred quid more than a new Wal. At that time Wal and Jaydee were considered a bit old-hat compared to newer Warwicks ect.
  18. Isn't it! I remember first seeing it on Raw Power / Noisy Mothers the late night ITV rock music program when I was..well.. younger!!
  19. ...or the tank like build quality... The new Trace amps are really Peavey, a company who I may never trust after this which possibly explains the title to this thread (a lost art!):
  20. I know this thread is from a while back, but just in case anyone’s still interested, here’s the finished bass - looking and sounding great! 😉 I asked a friend to check it over with a one minute demo. Antoria.mp4
  21. I might try this next week...
  22. Just to add that if Lenspeed price isnt affordable, someone can arrange their own courier. Happy to box it up
  23. There's actually a precise formula: Too many = how many you have now + 2 That means there's always room for one more...
