  4. Get Lucky - Daft Punk
  5. It makes sense Use a pick and mids increase a lot sounding like less bass. Increasing the bass doesn’t work but cutting back the mids does bring the fuller tone back but with that glorious pick tone you can’t get using fingers. Well it’s possible of course ( Steve Harris as example ) but lots of string replacements and a ton of gear !
  6. Also mostly recorded direct to a DAW via the Headphone out, which sort of bypasses all the stuff we would be interested in hearing 🙄. Still going to get one, but im not one to pre order, as i wouldn't get any sleep while im waiting for it to arrive lol.
  7. I agree Tony. Mike is good to deal with too, he knocked a surprising chunk off the price of the last one I bought from him. Even more hmm......!
  8. Hi Sean, you'd have had a problem with any speaker in that position. Each surface the speaker is placed against boosts the bass in particular and you had all three surfaces to contend with. Effectively you had placed your speaker at the end of a huge conical horn. That's no criticism of you, I've been stuck many a time in the corner of a tiny performance space like that you really don't have a choice. Using the Monaco may have helped quite a lot but it's a horrible position to be in, literally The only thing you can do in that situation is to wind the bass right back. I'd use agressive HPF and be prepared to roll the bass eq pretty much right down if I needed too, I'd also be looking to boost the mids. Years ago I posted up the eq I'd ended up with in a particularly difficult hall. I had a Hartke with a graphic and I was stunned how much bass I had to roll off. It might have been better to swap places with the guitarist in this venue as it would be less affected by the corner position.
  9. Can't go wrong for the money,i have one and I love the tone, and the fret boards on these are superb GLWTS.
  10. Congrats, beautiful basses. I have a custom shop Super PJ and it's a wonderful instrument.
  11. Their Prestige bag is described as "Gewa-Tex" which sounds to me like an expensive way to describe nylon while making people think that it's Gore-Tex. What is yours actually made of (in the real world, not the marketing blurb)?
  12. Sounds like you've been really unlucky.
  13. I transport ‘Lilly’ in a Gewa Prestige bag, which seems to be well built and robust for the price (I paid £170 from Thomann).
  14. These were a big deal in the unplugged era of the ‘90s . Bargain ! Glwts
  15. I had a very quick look at the Songster tab earlier today, and at the Chords on Ultimate Guitar. I must say, I was having trouble marrying the two together.
  16. Yeah I like that one too rob, I don’t think it’s a bad price either compared with some that are around
  17. That's a beautiful moment.
  18. Really good to know. Hope the affair blooms into a long and loving relationship!
  19. Lovely bass. Looks great in the video. If you can access Fender Japan's site. these are currently available as part of their MIJ Heritage Series.
  20. I really like the vibe of this '66 Precision that Mike Long has at the moment. It's tempting me to try a C neck again. It's all there, all original, even the case, and the weight is great. I have a guitar here which he would probably straight trade for........ hmm. https://www.atbguitars.com/1966-fender-precision-bass Rob
  21. Today
  22. Looking at the pics, they appear to be short and curlies.
  23. My girl - The Temptations
  24. Thomastik Jazz flatwounds 6-string set (i.e. a 5-string set with an extra top C). I bought these off here in the hope they would fit either a body-thru 34" or a 35" scale bridge loading bass, but unfortunately they were too long for both. They apparently fit multi-scale/fan fret basses like Dingwalls etc, and would probably fit a body-thru 35" scale bass. Specs here: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/thomastik-infeld-jazz-flat-wound-super-long-scale/ THESE WILL NOT FIT A 'STANDARD' 34" SCALE BASS! £35 posted (or happy to listen to offers?)
