    In Memoriam

Oh wow, So sad to hear of @Mrs Tinman's passing. I remember having a few chats with her on here and FB years ago and she was always funny and kind. All the best to @Tinman and your wider family.
  3. Price drop to £375. Now located near Wisbech.
  4. Dropped to £200, without the spare strings I was originally including. This bass is in hardly used, mint condition.
  5. I should clarify - they sold out of the thing I wanted when I ordered it. Getting new batches of instruments can take months to get manufactured, not super bothered about it. I'm impressed that the idea that pre-bankruptcy orders would be honoured by the newco has even been floated - had written it off in all honesty. But it might still all come to nothing - that's what I mean by the wait and see.

So sad She was great fun Condolences @Tinman
  7. That's shocking service.....
  8. Mojo to die for - stunner !!
  9. You Can’t Touch This - MC Hammer
  10. As new still sealed in packs, 3 sets available £11.50 per set including postage. I have been trying various brands of strings on a number of basses, whilst these are very nice I'm going to Dunlop's for my fretted Warwick. To my ears the Eden's seem similar to Rotosounds, maybe not quite as 'zingy' initially.

  11. Kent Armstrong Bass Humbucker for a 4 string bass. Circa 1990 when I purchased new and still in excellent condition and virtually unmarked. It's been in two of my basses over the last 35 years and sounds great. I think these were handmade, add £7.00 for UK insured postage.

  12. Tell you when/if they fulfil my order from September last year...
  13. Good news........ But does the collective feel confident that an order, particularly an expensive one, and one that requires a wait, would be fulfilled...?
  14. Hi, Free State Revolution are seeking a bassist to fill a busy schedule of gigs throughout the year. We play a mixture of pop, indie and rock music through the decades, all covers. Based in Herts, Beds and Bucks area, if this sounds interesting, check us out on Facebook Instagram and if it seems interesting get in touch. thanks Mark
  15. includes postage to the UK
  16. All prices include postage to the UK. Cut for a sire V5R (four in line): LaBella Deep Talkin’ 760FS with no E string (45, 65, 85). Handy for spares as LaBella don't sell singles of these. £30 D'Addario XL. Two sets, both either 45-105 or 45-100. £10 Cut for a Stingray (short G string): Ernie Ball Super Slinky (45-100) £10
  17. Two lightly used EMG TBTW pickups, with all originally provided parts, cables, etc. and original packaging. In full working order. These contain both a jazz and a humbucking pickup, with a push-pull knob to switch between the two. The jazz is hum cancelling with a phantom coil when in use. I had these in a 70s jazz spacing, and the switching between different pickup types plus the normal jazz-style volume-volume-tone gives a nice variety of tones. https://www.emgpickups.com/tbtw.html £70 each or £130 for the pair, posted to the uk. Contact me for postage elsewhere.

  21. On top of Wylde's questionable tone, I'm sure he was playing the riff to Walk incorrectly. Planet Caravan sounded totally wrong as well.
  22. Reposted - Thought it may have regained a use, but the slot has been taken by another! Second chance!
  23. These are two great records. Chuck Rainey is the sound I want and the notes I wish I could play. Just a super player.
  24. I got a Mod Shop Jazz. It’s great. Sure, it will be disappointing if you’re looking for a tailor-made spec, but seen as a modern take on the old ‘custom colour’ options of the 1960s it’s pretty good. Price isn’t a huge markup compared with list (no dealer discount, of course). It took more or less as long as they said it would to arrive, no hidden costs and build quality was as good as I’ve seen on a Fender. I’m happy.
  25. Is that an 8 string bass?
  26. Obviously you could hear Rob during the For Whom The Bell Tolls intro, etc, but otherwise I found his tone a bit indistinct... kinda blurred into the guitars. Rex was playing his fretless Spector during Planet Caravan, and it had a nice deep tone. The Pantera set was spoiled by Wylde's frankly horrendous guitar sound though - sounded like it was being played through a crappy Bluetooth speaker. I forgot about Mike Inez - he always sounds good, although he was using maybe a little more distortion than was necessary. That Would? intro sounded fuzzy.
