  2. There's no tube in the original Digbeth models - the second channel has tube-style drive but is solid state. This isn't a criticism though - they sound really good!
  3. Bought some GHS strings from Rich. Excellent all round and fast delivery.
  4. I think most of us can relate to this at some time or another. Ultimately, if you've persevered and you're just not enjoying yourself it is a good sign to preserve your inner peace and call time on involvement in a project. Albeit, that does involve saying goodbye to work and money, which can also be tough. But some people really can make the decision easier for us to walk away. Best of luck with the next steps!
  5. Nice one - I had a chat with him at a show a few years back.

  7. After a year of gigging it, I still hadn't fallen for the vintera II '50s p bass I'd gotten, so I traded it in and got this Player II - Absolutely delighted with it, ergonomically the neck just works better for me, and the pickups are superb. Put the obligatory leopard print strap on it and the rest of this year has been going great. Might even sell on something else and pick up another one in green 💚
  8. Thanks! I've done some stuff on theory and had a good go at Mark Smith's TalkingBass scales course and am kind of familiar with chord tones and scales but I'll never refuse an offer of help!
  9. In that case, simplify. There's no shame in playing at your best (not theirs, or the original bassist's...). Most songs can be simplified, keeping much of the 'spirit' of it all. The auditors will fill in any other auditory information from their own knowledge of the song, and if they don't know it well, what does it matter..? Don't flail yourself skinless over a piece that's above your pay-grade. Play it as best you can (and practice more in the years to come, obviously...). Your ears will develop faster if you use 'em more, too, so keep working stuff out the 'old school' way.
  10. Avoid !! Get a new or secondhand by only a few years as I think that’s the better route
  11. Ten basses for a band? Are you a U2 tribute?
  12. Price drop now £115! Inspired by both new and old, the AfterLife has FOUR different internal analog circuits that provide 2 distortions and 2 fuzzes. Providing plenty of headroom and a ton of gain, these four selections will cover all the distorted ground you’ve got. While the outside boasts a lone Mode selection knob and a Volume control, there’s more under the hood to this one. Internal adjustable trimpots are available for all four modes, with parameters like overall Volume, Bias, Gain and Filter. The enclosure is 100% Solid Aircraft Aluminum Machined. The artwork on the front and back is laser-engraved, and each AfterLife pedal is 100% hand-wired and hand-built. Collect from Chesterfield or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam
  13. Here’s my TC Electronic RH450 in used condition. Everything works perfectly - this is a proper workhorse of an amplifier, and small/light enough to use as a backup when gigging. Collect from Chesterfield (5 mins from M1 J29) or I can post for an additional £15. Cheers! Sam

  14. I have sent you a PM!
  15. I've found one on FB market place but it's miles away in Clitheroe but a good price but I've found out it's 25 years old!! What do you guys think?
  16. Ooo, had a quick chat with him at the Bass Show in Birmingham. Very nice chap!
  17. I've already asked Dave, but pending reply thought I'd ask here as, if easy, might try to fix it before gig at weekend.
  18. Looking forward to finding out more! What is the arpeggiator like on F1-4. Any clips? It's one of the features that's keeping me tied to the SY-200 currently
  19. A while back I was looking for a 1U power amp for my bass rack and Powersoft came up many times as there weren't many 1U sized amps with decent power ratings coming up. But i decided against due to needing a shallow rack and they were lots of £'s. Even used. All the best with the sale.
  20. Lots to like for not much money. GLWTS
