  1. Past hour
  2. Thinking that I may as well be hung for a sheep (ie a seriously expensive bass) as for a lamb (Rich's excellent EBS Session 60), I have just blown the year's budget on this very beautiful Duesenberg Motown Bass Almost too beautiful to play, but not quite...
  3. for me got to be far beyond driven - pantera death - individual thought patterns
  4. Simon bought a cab from me today. He drove down to collect it, arrived on time and it was a really easy transaction. Great comms throughout the process. Lovely chap and highly recommended!
  5. Aurras is sold, just the Tonehammer left
  6. Thanks. I am about to upgrade to a new machine and will be methodical.
  7. Road Tested - Bonnie Raitt with Hutch Hutchinson Feats Don't Fail Me Now - Little Feat with Kenny Gradney Rock Of Ages - The Band with Rick Danko Slow Down - Keb Mo with Reggie McBride Live in Austin - Delbert McClinton Stax Records - Duck Dunn Aretha Franklin - Chuck Rainey
  8. My personal take is that the locking jack - in a bass/guitar context - is a solution looking for a problem.
  9. I'm not fond of the locking jacks - I find it awkward to unlock them, especially when using a wireless dongle. I remove the locking mechanism and leave the rest intact. Fully agreed about the 1/4" jack on a plate, that's what my Sei headlesses have.
  10. Today
  11. Lovely looking bass. As well as the truss-rod, do these have carbon rods reinforcing the neck?
  12. Last bump before this goes on eBay!
  13. It's a bit much for me tbh. Definitely a pedal for someone who likes tweaking controls whereas I'm a 'set and forget' kind of player.
  14. Yes you can, works with anything that has the EUCON protocol, it doesn't;t work as well as Protools however, some of the really useful mixing functions are absent.
  15. Can connect the S3 to logic if you want
  16. I’ve owned this bass for about 10 years, I bought it from a lady who told me it belonged to her late father. It had a crack in the heel of the neck which she believed her father had repaired, I played the bass as it was for about a year but wasn’t confident about the crack, so I took it to Tim Batchelor in Leicester who removed the fingerboard and carried out a professional repair fitted a new fingerboard and adjustable bridge. He presumed the bass to be late 19th/ early 20th century. I’m selling this reluctantly due to health issues
  17. Unfortunately Protools soft-synths aren't anywhere near as good as Logic/Abelton, but then its a different beast. We've taken to using Logic as a writing platform so as to preserve continuity between the various set ups, then In throw it all into PT once the demo is done, re-record everything and add or subtract for the arrangement and then mix. I have a few 3rd party synths in PT to expand on the Logic parts, SSD5 for Drummer replacement parts etc. but often I simply bounce the audio from the Logic session files. Logic/Abelton are perfectly capable platforms without a ruck of 3rd party soft-synths. I prefer PT as a tracking/mixing environment as I have an Avid S3 desk, but I think Logic is much better for writing/programming.
  18. We could do a little deal on that Seagull if you’ve still got it? Do you get wafers with it?
  19. I remove all the UAD2 plug-ins not in my library and put them in an folder marked "unused plug-ins" saves you scrolling through a list of plug-ins you don't have access to. Only needs doing every time they release an update... 🤣
  20. Aside from my old Warwick (which funnily enough were known for jack issues) that's the only barrel jack I've not had a problem with so far. Tbh I think all side mounted jacks should just have a wider hole and a regular 14/" jack on a plate, that's what I have on my Aria with an East pre. Problem free and can fix it in 2 minutes with a screwdriver if it becomes unreliable. https://www.blackdogmusic.co.uk/product/recessed-oval-jack-plate-in-chrome-black-or-gold/
  21. Depending on what you're planning to house in it, you may want vents to the top and bottom too, you may want to leave a 1/2 rack space between the units too, some people leave a full rack space with a vented blank panel for valve or class A kit between the units. Have a look at the cases of the units you want to put in the rack, if they have vents to the top and bottom of the case and/or fans to the rear, you'll need some way for the air to get to the interior of the units. I have a 2U rack for the bass amp/management for my studio monitors, I had to cut vents to the top to stop it overheating.
  22. Yes, all good with me, thanks Pete... 👍 Hope all's well with you too!
  23. Impressive! Enjoy the relaxing times.
