  1. Past hour
  2. Just arrived - first impressions after getting them out the packet are they are far more like round wounds in feel (whilst still coiled) than I expected - not getting the 'buttery' ATM. They feel quite similar to the D'Addario nickels on the bass currently. I'll get it all strung up and report back.
  3. What's the weight of the singer in Kilderkins please?
  4. Pedaltrain Nano in top condition with (soft side) velcro attached. Harley Benton ISO-5 PSU velcro'd to the underside. Cracking little PSU - 5 outputs, two are switchable 9/12/18V, I've had it for a while and used it a lot, it's never missed a beat. Full spec and blurb here: https://www.thomann.co.uk/harley_benton_powerplant_iso_5_pro.htm Includes replacement myvolts power adapter/adaptor (which cost about £17 as I recall) as well as the original (euro plug with clunky adapter/adaptor - it'll do as a spare). The myvolts needs a polarity reverser, (which is also included), the original doesn't. Includes 5 pedal power leads and a reverse polarity lead for the LEDs. And TWO free velcro cable ties! The LEDs are remote controllable, different colours (to match your shoes), they can fade, they can flash in time to the music, they're utterly stupid, pointless and completely fantastic. Includes soft carrying case with decent sized front pocket and shoulder strap. This has never been used and is in mint condition. I'd rather sell these together, but I'll change my tune if they're still here in a week or two. £75 posted or £70 collected from Bewdley DY12 I go to Brum and Worcester a lot, happy to meet up or possibly deliver. Any questions (about the item) please ask.

  7. I think that is more the route we are thinking of taking. It's then up to us to take the band to the level where the figures do add up. Part of this is my wanting to just play at a higher level I've spent 15+ years playing in 'bog standard' covers bands covering the same songs everyone else does. Every now and again we've recruited better musicians and the whole band are lifted and suddenly the gigs roll in and people want to join the band. The early days with this band promised something better so I want to recruit well and get back to that feeling. Deps potentially would allow us to continue gigging whist we search and who knows we might be able to recruit one of the deps if they enjoy it enough.
  8. I was the giant in one previous band of hobbits, towering above them all in my 175cm majesty (0.0086992 furlongs, or in more modern units, 5.671323e-17 parsecs).
  9. Never thought I'd let this one go but I've gone Lionel. I bought this from The Bass Gallery last year for 1200 and had my luthier fit John East. Atelier is a boutique Japanese bass maker that doesn't officially export to the UK. A truly exquisite instrument. 30" scale jazz bass, more than just a Mustang on steroids, it has titanium truss rod and a string through body. Made in Japan 2019. I've never seen another with this finish, so probably a custom order. It's a 30th anniversary edition with honeyburst, book matched, spalted face and rosewood fretboard. The preamp has been upgraded to John East (the best there is) with pull passive/tone control or active 2 band EQ. Strung with recent flatwounds, set up with low action. A real collectible gem. Potentially open to trades! Can courier.
  10. Pink Lloyd, the well-known Welsh prog band.
  11. I got this update on a clay tablet, written with a copper stylus. For basschat that’s pretty advanced, none of this scratching into rocks nonsense which is just so last-millennium
  12. You’re better, objectively, than jaco… I mean God?
  13. Hi all. Thanks for letting me in. My daughter has a J&D PB mini bass & wants to swap the tortoiseshell pick guard to a black one. Does anyone know where we could get one? Thanks
  14. The Green Greengage of Home - Tom Jones
  15. I think it was Pink Fold actually.
  16. David Gilmour will be along in a minute to redo the advert.
  17. Into The Grape Wide Open - Tom Petty
  18. You have the attention of the gentleman who designed your D-800!
  19. Untreated brass pickguard just fitted. Made by TinyTone. Looks good I think
  20. No, makes it easier to carry...
  21. Oh he was always a maple on black P bass guy, whenever he had time to jam in Covent Garden!
  22. Never posted before but I think I have a suggestion. Look on the BAY and you'll find FLUTED DOWELS. I think they are available in 8, 10 or 12mm and made from hardwood. The deal is you drill the existing hole out to the appropriate dowel size, put a blob of decent wood glue down the hole and tap the dowel in. As you tap it in the glue is forced up the flutes in the dowel all round and once dry the repair is absolutely solid. You can then re=drill using the neck holes as a guide.
  23. No idea if this has been said before but I'm in the Jazz camp because it does a P "impersonation" whereas a P can't impersonate a J. I like both 60s and 70s pickup spacing but lean towards the 60s for more authority in a band mix. I'll take either however.
