I’m selling my beautiful 2004 German-made Warwick Streamer LX Jazzman in Petrol Green – a seriously versatile and pro-level bass that’s built like a tank and sounds amazing. Lovingly looked after and in fantastic condition, gold hardware upgraded to black official Warwick hardware, new black Dunlop strap locks, and a new Just-A-Nut III brass nut, professionally fitted. Set up beautifully with a low action. Specs: • Swamp ash body with flame maple top • Bolt-on ovangkol neck with wenge fingerboard • 24 frets / 34” scale length • Just-A-Nut III brass nut (38.5mm width) • Warwick 2-piece brass bridge • MEC pickups: passive Jazz (neck) + MM-style humbucker (bridge) • 3-way mini toggle (series / parallel / single coil) • Active 3-band EQ (volume push-pull for passive bypass) • Dunlop strap locks • Weighs around 4kg – solid but very comfortable Condition: Very good overall. Some signs of use as expected for a bass of this age, but everything works perfectly. Frets are in great shape, neck is straight, and the electronics are super flexible. Uber versatile. This thing can do vintage warmth or modern bite with ease. Includes a Protection Racket gig bag. Would prefer collection, but have a proper box to post at buyers expense, but must be insured by buyer prior to sending. Any further questions, please feel free to ask. Cash on collection or bank transfer only. Cheers ☺️☀️

Has anyone had any experiences with the new Ampeg V 7 amp heads?

You want bass face? Okay. When cousin Itt began to lose his hair, we began to get an idea of what he would eventually look like...

Simply Blu Trio, three members of our 5 piece bluegrass band playing at The Block bistro in North Bay Ontario last night. We have played here before and do a mix of standard bluegrass songs and a few others including some Gordon Lightfoot and keep it light and friendly, it's not a show as such just background music for the diners and it went over well with some nice comments afterwards. We had a request for Ian Tyson's Four Strong Winds from a lady celebrating her birthday and although we had never played it together we picked a key and ended up surprising ourselves with a very nice version of it with three part harmony! Smallish crowd but early gig (6-8:30, two sets) and we will be back next week for something new, a lunch time gig. 😊

Apologies, yo humean the little position switch! As I recall it did nothing, along with the volume/grit knob when the SGT foot switch was not enabled. Hopefully someone that still has one will come along soon and confirm.

One slight little chip to the paint on the top (photo below) and there’s a bit of sticker residue on the bottom left over from previous Velcro. Thanks, Mike

"face"? Sure. Why not?

It's a superb example of Carol Kaye's bass of choice from 2002. These don't come up too often. Condition is remarkable for the age. It's even got the plastic film on the cavity covers. It's Korean-built and we know they know how to do neck-through properly. The build quality is stunning as is the grain of the ash wings. The neck profile is what I'd call slim modern J. Controls are: Vol, Blend, Treble, Bass. It's been deep cleaned and set up beautifully (med/low) with D'Addario EXL170BT strings. that's a balanced tension set. As per all my rosewood board instruments, it's been treated with Montypresso. Frets are level and polished to 7000 grit. All electronics have been checked and all pots cleaned. New battery fitted today. Truss rod is perfect. It's 4.4kg. I've got proper packaging and am happy to ship insured at buyers expense, which will be about £30. If you're undecided and fancy trying it out, I can usually accommodate a try-out with some notice weekdays or weekends.

The headline specs of the pups used in the 40th Anniversary P (and possibly the CVs?) lie in between the Fender Vintage 60 and Vintage 63. All Alnico 5 just very slightly different winds. Interestingly, the VIntage 60 spec has slightly lower maximum resistance specced for the treble (fender call it 'lead') half of the pickup, although minimum resistance is the same.

Neither does Paul McCartney and he makes a decent fist of it.

First bass: Columbus Jazz. Hateful thing, but in 1980 it was all I could afford. It ended up being held together with electrical tape. Go to: Fender Meteora, hip shot drop D. It’ll do everything except sound like the Thunderbirds. My bass(es): Gibson Thunderbirds. My sound, my look. The band won’t accept anything else now.

She's got the most bass-facey face in rock. A risk thing - as my mum would have said, "If the wind changes your face will stay like that!"
