NBD: In the spirit to lose my head!
Cat Burrito replied to Cat Burrito's topic in General Discussion
Ah, I thought that it might be the Hohner as it doesn’t have the Spirit logo. I remember those well. I wanted the style rather than the exact one. I believe the Spirit basses are wood too and I must confess I always prefer passive, simply because a flat battery is one more thing to go wrong. It makes sense that the Hohner would be superior as you aren’t paying for the name. -

There is a B2A for sale locally to me for £350. I've had one before, I don't need another one but I'm very tempted just because they are a very good bass in a very small package. -
Got the mixer in yesterday afternoon. It wasn't supposed to arrive until Wednesday, but sure enough, Gear4Music somehow managed to get it to me less than 36 hours after I bought it online. Tried the Behringer X Air app on android, absolute crap. Tried MX Mix, marginally better. Tried Mixing Station, and now won't be going back to either of the other two apps. Just been able to plug some guitars, a mic and my bass in so far, trying to hash out the input gain levels for our band by using the same gear as will be used by them. So far, a lot easier to use than people seemed to suggest.

I've seen people that do that. You're up there performing and they want to have a conversation with you. It's like they're saying; " You're not doing anything important so this is ok". Daryl

Nice one! The Thunderbird Classic IV Pro is a solid choice. Great tone and feel. If you're into building your own, The Guitar Fabrik offers DIY kits. It's a fun way to get exactly what you want (especially for the finishing) and learn a lot along the way. Tuners for Fender Precision to Jazz Conversion neck?
CherryLine replied to Jean-Luc Pickguard's topic in General Discussion
For that price, you could also grab a DIY kit from The Guitar Fabrik. They have great Precision and 5-Strings Jazz Bass kits that let you build your own bass from scratch. It’s a fun way to get exactly what you want and learn a lot along the way! - https://guitarkitfabric.co.uk/products/bass-guitar-kit-precision-style-ebony.html - https://guitarkitfabric.co.uk/products/bass-guitar-kit-jazzmaster-style-ebony.html -
That buzz of wanting to learn bass is awesome! Start with songs you love and just groove along. Don’t stress speed: feel the rhythm and have fun with it. Before long, you’ll be making your own grooves that get everyone moving!

Thanks for the tip! That preamp looks like a great option for boosting the Stingray’s sound without spending a fortune. I’ll definitely keep an eye on those batches. Appreciate it!

My tiny little PJB C2 handles a low B with aplomb. It just isn't very loud. Spilling .

So what you are saying is "ability to drive 2 ohms is not a necessity". Problem solved. Nothing to see here. You can all go home now.

Tuners for Fender Precision to Jazz Conversion neck?
Stub Mandrel replied to Jean-Luc Pickguard's topic in General Discussion
Gemnjus not helpful. "The concept of "terminal velocity" as it applies to a bass guitar is not a standard measurement or a practical consideration. Terminal velocity usually refers to the constant speed that a free-falling object eventually reaches when the force of gravity is balanced by air resistance. While a bass guitar dropped from a height would experience this, it's not a meaningful comparison between a Precision Bass and a Jazz Bass. The key differences between these two basses are their neck profiles, pickup configurations, and tonal characteristics, not their aerodynamic properties. "
