  4. Open to sensible offer: Selling my well cared for German Double Bass. Written valuation in 2006 £4,500-£5,000. Bass Circa 1880’s. I have owned the bass for approx. 40 years. Bought from a classical Pro double bassist. Excellent playing condition both acoustically and with fitted ‘Armstrong‘ end of fingerboard pickup. The bass had a ‘health check’ approximately 3 years ago. All in good order. A new set of Thomastik Spirocore 4/4 light, complete set, orchestra tuning, strings bought in 2002 and very little played since then. Comes with Mooradian cover case. Ps--Pickup has now been removed from the bass as I have been playing the bass acoustically--but the pickup is available if required. PM me

  5. Great basses, fine memories of one of these. Kept it over my Lakland 5’s at the time it was that good. GLWTS
  6. Maruszczyk Mr. Tee - Short Scale Bass (30"). Picked up in a trade from @andybassdoyle in 2025 (super bloke!) - it's a fantastic bass but I'm not finding myself reach for it when I'm off to gigs and it's a shame to have it sitting in it's (included Hiscox hard) case. 5 string, currently setup E - C. A superb, light weight bass. Looks stunning and plays amazingly. Piezo bridge + magnetic pickup with Richter electronics in. Controls are: 1) Volume/pan between piezo and mag pickups 2) Bass/treble with push/pull on the treble for passive bypass. 3) Mid/mid frequency Originally fretless, professionally fretted by a previous owner. This video shows the bass when it was new: Full spec as per the original build is: Scale Length Short Scale 30" Number of Frets 20 Frets Body Construction Hollowbody Body Wood Alder Top Wood Eye Poplar Veneer Walnut Color Type Natural Body Binding Without Binding Body Finish Gloss Pickguard 3ply Cream Neck Wood Flamed Maple Neck Finish Matte Neck Profile Modern C Nut Width 40mm Carbon Rods No Fingerboard Wood Macassar Ebony Fingerboard Radius 14'' Headstock Type Matching Headstock (Natural) Headstock Finish Gloss Headstock Logo Silver Nut Black Pickup Combination Single Coil (SSC) Manufacturer Bassculture Pickup Finish Pickguard Color Neck Pickup Bassculture SSC 'Cream' Hardware Color Chrome Knobs Type Dome-Style Tuner Type Standard Y-Style Security Locks Without Security Locks String Type Flatwound ------ Available to view / test / collect from Exmouth, Devon. 7. I miss this amp…if I wasn’t recovering from “open wallet surgery “ from the beloved HRMC..I’d have this back mate ..GLWTS..
  8. Here are the images of the bass
  9. I believe Gibson have the same exception. Neither Gibson or Fender have created a new product in 50 years.

It arrived with flats on which sounded good. Anyway, popped a set of Hybrid Slinkys on and it sings. It's active, volume, pickup blend and something very versatile going on with the other pot. Need to find out more info on this. Lovely bass though.
  11. Yamaha turning up to NAMM with no new basses is quite the flex...
  12. Thank you! Looks like I’ll need to hear them! - I saw there’s quite a few different sets available. Have you tried the different types?
  13. What’s ‘Eco Mode’? Does it make it cheaper? 😁
  14. It’s like the old SWRs, never thought it was a good design, style over function
  15. Fair point 👍
  16. It would be cool if it had wheels. I wonder if it’s a bit tricky to move otherwise, I could be wrong and not sure of the weight but it looks as though the height and handle might make it a bit awkward. I like the look though. I’ve always liked combos for some reason.
  17. Not the 70s version! The one with threaded saddles is the 58 I think.

    Looks very nice
  19. Not my cup of Earl Grey, especially as it's a P without enough strings, but it looks to have been very well done.
  20. @ead You can get from Clapham to Chorley in about an hour. Drove it myself this evening, come to the Bash in the morning and early afternoon and back for the evening. Rob
  21. I’ve seen these pop up secondhand occasionally and always seem to miss out. They look pretty and a lot of fun.
  22. I'll do my best for this one but it's our wedding anniversary so I'll need a pass out.
