  2. … gets you thru the night. JL
  3. I think the F# tuning is what many going for a 6 string NG would likely tune to over regular tuning to be fair! But I agree you may want to look at removing the vinyl cover (or at least checking it can be removed cleanly) as its a little niche, don't remember seeing anything like that before!
  4. Won't get fired again!
  5. It's not very environmentally friendly. Creating trinkets that will mainly gather dust once the initial buzz has passed and the next CD is released. That's mainly what marketing and consumerism depends on. What's the objective? Raise money, or spread the band's name in the hope more people come to gigs in other towns than where your mates live, and you make money from that?

    Legit?

It's quite common for people to strip that black finish. It's not as smooth as a satin finish, so just like some people take a scouring pad to glossy neck finishes, some people stripped the necks on their SUBs. That compensated nut is quite difficult to explain otherwise.
  7. Lovely, the tuners alone almost justify the asking price 👍
  8. Relative newbie since 2009, my post count isn't as stratospheric as some of the titans here, but I like to think my inane blather has meant my word count's quite respectable. And some of it even makes sense...not much, I admit, but...
  9. Brand new fitted but never used Northwest Guitars Jazz neck and Gotoh Nickel FB30 Lolipop tuners. It’s a pretty fine neck, decent quality and nicely finished. Just sitting not being used so up she goes. The start of a parts clearout. Price includes U.K. Shipping
  10. I may have a use for this, but I'll need to do some measuring. I'll get back to you this evening - at work just now.
  11. I got a set months ago as I was mildly curious and needed to add a few £ to get free delivery, but I didn't have the right opportunity to try them until yesterday. I just wish I had bought a 5 string set instead, as that's what I play most.
  12. Whatever - Oasis
  13. I don't find them similar to TI Jazz Flats, I feel these have a deeper bottom and lower mids. If I were going to compare them with anything it would be GHS flats. Regardless, they're pretty nice and they cover quite a range of sounds using the passive tone control, at least while fresh.
  14. Signed up here on 16th May 2007 having been on Bassworld since about 2001. Over the years I've bought and sold many basses and amps although now my gigging days are over my activity is much reduced. Over the years I have met many fellow bassists and made many friends.
  15. Artist javier Santiago did this with one of his albums. He did a small batch of vinyl copies. I went to see him nearly the beginning of the year in brick lane London and spoke to him about it. He was happy he didn’t order a big batch.
  16. This is just so beautiful! 😯
  17. I would buy this if I didn't already have two. I love the look and they feel so comfortable to play. This is a bargain.
  18. Im a 80’s baby and grew up on cassettes,cd’s and the mini discs. I am a very analogue person and prefer physical items. I loved opening up the cd and booklet to see who played what parts. Finding this info nowadays is so so long. Sometimes you can’t find the info. Baffles and frustrates me. Sadly I am the minority and digital copies are the standard in this era. The impact of the smart phone has changed how people consume things. Laptops don’t have a cd drive anymore. Whatever the younger generation deem as normal is what the companies will keep doing. I walked past the iconic hmw in Oxford street London a week ago and it seemed like a cluttered pound store. It was so surreal to see what it has become. I say all this coming from someone who chooses to shoot analogue film rather than use digital cameras to create my art work. I hope physical items become more popular and the trend moves in this direction. Doubt it though.
  19. Gotoh 203B-4-NI Bridge Only used briefly and comes with some mounting screws, heavier than the typical BBOT bridge. Nice Japanese quality bridge. Nickel plate, 19 mm string spacing. Boxed near new. Price includes UK postage.
  20. I Told You So - Carrie Underwood
  21. @pete.young I set it up and while it looks absolutely stunning and is really quite pleasing to play, it's not as resonant a unit as I'd like it to be to sell it as an instrument. It's possible that the strings are contributing so I'm going to try a different set when I have some time this evening (I was using some medium-light rounds which were already on the body when it wore a fretted nack, I suspect some heavier flats might bring it to life a little more). Might just be one of those neck/body combinations that doesn't work all that well, but I'll try the flats and report back anyway 👍
  22. I was chatting with someone and there's a really cool job for a professional musician to work as the manager of the Rock Project in and around Bristol (Clevedon and Portishead). Details here: https://www.facebook.com/TRPBristolNorthSomerset Payment seems really fair, too and the job looks amazing. Sadly not for me as I have kids and it's around school kicking out time. Thought I'd share as opportunities for stuff like this don't come up too often.
