  1. Past hour
  2. Played a birthday party in the middle of nowhere in a sweaty tent, no food or drinks with a client who made an ignorant/racist comment to out guitarist right of the bat. I also got to use my newly finished "Grandma's wallpaper" jazz bass. So 7/10 overall
  3. Shart for Arts Sake - 10CC
  4. I guess it’s down to trying it personally. All the systems you mention are probably used by others without issue, so it’s going to be a personal thing.
  5. So I am looking for yet another wireless system, so checking on what options are around. I had the smoothhound, it fell apart after a lot of gigs and I sent it back to get it fixed. In the mean time I had a Lekato 2.4GHz which worked fine, but I lost (found much later, still use in the house). I got a cuvave wireless which broke. Then I got the Lekato WS70, which was good to use but it became apparent after a while there was a compressing effect on using it, you could hear the end of quiet notes being cut off. So I got a WS90. This doesn't have the compressing but has a high noise floor, so when using a drive, it is unacceptably loud. I could go back to the smoothhound but I don't want to make a space on the pedalboard for a receiver. So I am wondering if the Fender Telepath or Xvive A58 was any good?

  7. One of the few cabs I’d love to try/own .. just as well I’m no longer in a band
  8. Christ, scam or not, why on earth would anyone even want that abomination 🤣
  9. Solid plan. I'll report back if it comes to that.
  10. It's Mystic Sea Foam Green apparently. Definitely got a metallic thing going on. Very mysterious anyway. Good shout on darkening the fretboard for more lovelification. No doubt there's more than a few opinions out there as to how to do it!
  11. Today
  12. Thanks! Yeah it's this one, rather than the CRT series 🙂
  13. As mentioned already, the size and shape of that IEM can make or break the experience. The tips make a difference but a few of us have found the actual IEM to be to big and heavy or just not able to sit right. I use the same tips with my IE400’s that i did for my MEE M3’s, but a totally different experience.
  14. Blowin' In The Wind - Bob Dylan
  15. Thank you, David Jacobs 😁
  16. On the very odd chance that some/any of you are attending the East Finchley festival tomorrow, I am depping for my old goth/post punk band The InSect at 4pm on the main stage. A short but sweet 25 minute set

  17. Really could do with getting this and my other sales shifted soon as it looks quite likely I’ll be pushed out of my job in a few weeks due to all the time I’ve had off due to stress from my son’s mental health problems. Ironic as he’s been doing much better lately.

  20. When that happens I select "desktop site" on the phone browser. It doesn't always work but usually I can zoom in on the good bits.

  22. Scam, in so far as I'd bet an awful lot of money that what you receive is not what is pictured.
  23. Altho i saw them with Bernie Torme and John McCoy i cant say i was a big fan of them. Dave
  24. Records like this are why I love soul house and funk. Superb playing from Mr Crampton...
  25. Some mighty Gillan tracks, but I was thinking of Born Again.
  26. I learned 'clawhammer' some 50 years ago from my first guitar book. Basically thumbed bass alternates with a pattern strummed with the fingernails. AI sayeth: Clawhammer" can refer to two distinct things: a type of hammer used in woodworking and a distinctive banjo playing style. The claw hammer, with its curved claws, is primarily used for driving and removing nails from wood. Clawhammer, as a banjo technique, is a rhythmic style where the strings are struck with the back of the fingernail and then plucked with the thumb, often associated with old-time music. Clawhammer (the hammer): Purpose: Driving nails into wood and pulling them out. Design: Features a head with a flat face for hammering and curved claws for prying nails. Suitable for: Woodworking and general tasks where nails need to be driven or removed. Not suitable for: Heavy hammering on metal surfaces, as the head can be brittle. Clawhammer (the banjo style): Origin: A traditional American old-time music style with roots in West African banjo playing. Technique: The hand is held in a claw-like shape, and the strings are struck with the back of the fingernail (index or middle finger) while the thumb plucks strings alternately. Sound: Produces a distinctive percussive and rhythmic sound, often described as mellow. Banjos: Typically played on open-back banjos, which emphasize the mellow tone. Other names: Also known as "frailing," "down-picking," or "overhand".
