  2. Here we go
  3. Touche Dave ❤️ one of BCs most regular and well read contributors, always enjoy your input and experience on here 😜 We are back out playing tomorrow, first gig in four weeks. So the bum notes, general forgetfulness and totally wrong lyrics will entertain the venue if nothing else. 😆 And that's before the other three banc members chip in! 🤭 😎
  4. Hi guys! Anyone know if this bridge will fit a sterling sub series? I just found this on AliExpress: £23.32 | Guyker 4 String Bass Bridge With Vintage Machined Brass Saddles Tailpiece Replacement https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyGFvw6
  5. Rice Pudding , looks like you’re eating a bowl of sick . I admit I have not tasted it yet , and probably never will. if I withdraw money from an ATM , I will always match the bank card to the bank I am using . My wife thinks I’m weird on this one until she tried to withdraw £100 from Santander with her HSBC card and the machine did not pay out any money, but debited her account with the withdrawal. We spent a good few hours in HSBC sorting this mess out . People who repeatedly tell me they’ve only payed 30 quid for there guitars / basses , and how those who’ve bought more expensive instruments have been ripped off .
  6. Is it the actual neck profile you can’t get on with, or the string spacing? These have wide string spacing due to the nut width. You can purchase a different bridge that will allow you to narrow the string spacing, which will affect the whole of the neck to a certain extent. It makes it much easier to play if you set the bridge to the gibson spacing of 54mm E to G.
  7. Amateurs compared with coalvile natives, I assure you.
  8. Oh hello! Smaller and with master volume only one exp/cv in Jack which can be set for one of the 4 of the knobs. behringer gives you midi, expression out and more cv ports - but is the size of a small planet compared to the pastfx! It’s also a chunk cheaper. isn’t there a trick on the mf101 where you can rout the expression out into the cut off cv to make a down filter?
  9. Been kidding myself I'm still a young 'un Richard, but upstairs gigs remind me I'm definitely not 😖 Young at heart tho, still 20 in my head 😜 Full 63 in my knees tho 😆
  10. I’ll be back in a few minutes …
  11. See My Baby Jive - Wizzard
  12. Trades - X Touch Universal, maybe Alto TS215. Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  14. The amount of times I forget to check the settings on my pedals haven't been knocked in transit... Although my favourite(?) rookie error was in one of my first bands as an 18 year old having just got my licence - of course we squeezed three lads, two amps, a bass, a guitar and most of a drum kit in a rover metro... and of course we knocked the exhaust off on the first bump we drove over!
  15. At a huge outdoor gig in bright sunlight I couldn’t see the leds on my pedal tuner. No problem, I have a backup Korg lcd screen tuner. Tuned my 5 string and started playing. Horrible; I must have been about a third of a tone out. I had to stop playing, grab my backup bass and carry on with some very odd looks from my bandmates. At the interval I just couldn’t work out what was going on. The sound guy sussed it. I’d knocked the calibration switch on the tuner in my haste from 440hz to something else. Doh!
  16. Since it's an acronym, it should be JPEG, but the "P" is indeed a "P", not a "Ph" or "F". And it's also often abbreviated to "jpg" - maybe the experts left the group?
  17. On which basis i assume you'd strongly counsel against buying any audio equipment from any manufacturer?
  18. So for the same reason we pronounce jpeg as jfeg, as the p is for photographic?
  19. Mister Twister — The Shirelles
  20. Annoying that all pa and effects gear has the IO on the back, but not bass amps.
  21. I don’t work for Focusrite anymore, but that’s a fairly standard response in any industry. If you want a warranty repair, buy new (I think Focusrite’s is a pretty solid 3 years), if you’re buying used, you’re sacrificing the warranty for a cheaper price, and you accept the potential for paid repairs. I feel like that’s on you. FWIW, when I left, I believe that Scarlett hardware ‘failures’ within the warranty period (first 3 years of life) were <1%, so any issues on that front is pretty unlucky, with almost all repairs coming in under 1 hour. I wouldn’t have thought Clarett’s are much more than that. Cheers Si

  23. 1. Anything Trace Elliot that doesn't run on Hitachi or Semelab TO3 Mosfets 🙄 2. Precisions with rounds 3. Stingrays with flats 4. Lefty players with upside down righty basses🙄 5. Righty players with upside down lefty basses😬 6. Amps with missing knobs! Phew. I feel better already getting all that irrationality out in the open. Dear Basschat, thank you for being my catharsis!
  24. I strongly counsel against buying an (expensive) Focusrite interface; I bought a Clarett 4Pre (used) and it blew up after a couple of months use. Whilst you might think thats the luck of the draw, Focusrite support didn't really offer much in the way of support for an (supposedly premium) interface that was only a couple of years old - just the possibility of a (paid for) repair at a 3rd party with no guarantees that even after paying £££ for that it would even be repairable.
