  1. Yesterday
  2. Is this bass still available for sale. If so very best price thanks
  3. That's the ancient dinosaur rocker? Dino Rod?
  4. Mick Jagger
  5. Neil Innes: "I've suffered for my music, now it's your turn."
  6. should have bought Ronnie Wood on to play bass on Maggie May, it's a great bass line on the recording
  7. The description: "Increase the speed of your favorite Precision Bass with the P to J Conversion neck." Surely the terminal velocity of a Precision will be almost exactly the same when dropped off the official Relicing Building, regardless of whether a P or a J neck is fitted.
  8. Oddly I thought the crowd noises were subdued this year , almost as if they were deliberately being dubbed out , mic’d down, EQ’d to a murmur or just plain ignored. i noticed it on most shows . loved Radcliffe and Maconey this morning playing highlights and naming the stages 😂
  9. Yesterday morning got a phone call asking if I could dep that evening as their regular bassist had got sunstroke, so I said yes. Got there and found that the drummer was also a dep. Very hot day but we were all prepared with a fan apiece - ironically the drummer's fan was the smallest (the tiny little black thing tucked under his hi-hat). The stage (a real stage!) was next to open doors just by me, so it was bearable. The thugball was on on two large tellies but we carried on anyway to a smallish but appreciative crowd. A slight hiatus when after the break I plugged my wireless dongles back in and was rewarded with silence. I switched bass but that didn't help, I swapped the wireless out for my spare wireless dongles and continued. When I got home, I checked the wireless and it was fine. My conclusion was that I'd managed to swap them over and plug the receiver into the bass. Note to self - look at the big Dyno labels on the dongles saying "Tx" and "Rx". Basses used were Sei Flamboyant 5 fretted and Sei Original 5 fretless, through Lekato WS-90 and then WS-50 wireless dongles and Zoom MS-60B to a Tecamp Puma 900 and GR Bass AT212, and footwear was once more the Caravelle memory foam trainers.
  10. Don’t Speak - No Doubt
  11. Lots to like for not much money. GLWTS
  12. Strangely they watched the music as if bludgeoned into silence, but there was a roar of appreciation and hand waving at the end of each song.
  13. All those poor kids not realising they are being cunningly subverted into hearing proper music.
  14. The other day I parked up on the street to find the postie leaving a parcel behind my side gate. I said sorry I wasn’t at home earlier but someone had parked a red van in front of my drive 😁
  15. The Prodigy were freaking awesome. Did a quick text round of the lads and the guitarist was oggling Olivia Rodrigo prancing around in her basque rather than watching the rawking on the Other Stage. Their light show was nearly as good as the set I bought from Thomann! Franz Ferdinand were great. Scissor Sisters were absolutely fabulous - what a show! Snow Patrol were... um, Snow Patrol. I'm currently catching up on Gary Numan and really enjoying it. But not as much as watching the crowd that doesn't seem to get him and are wondering why he hasn't done Are Friends Electric? yet. He's got a great rock goth vibe going on with his band I have loads of stuff to catch up on. Ezra Collective are top of the list. My lad was watching them earlier and they sounded really good.
  16. What'd I Say - Ray Charles
  17. Repeat - Manic Street Preachers
  18. I saw about 3 minutes of Rod Stewarts set. The pyramid stage, really? Was everyone else busy this year?!
  19. the lead guitarist played at a reasonable volume ?
  20. Congrats on the new bass! I loved my classic pro and it's the only bass I regret selling. Those pups are just the epitome of a Gibson bass tone - mean and massive with a dark growl that'll put hair on your ball sack. Love em. That purple vintage pro is gorgeous too, what a fine flock you have there!
  21. Got a '64 coming. I have been using the Capo for years now and it really is amazing. I do find myself sometimes running the recordings of it into a cab sim (I use the brainworx Bassman) after though. I think the 64 should be a good compliment to the Capo since I can run it's cab sim direct into my inteface and get that sound of an amp. Plus it has a blend, which will let me add more bottom end to the sound. Finally I can turn it off and DI straight into the interface if I want to do that, and kill the cabsim or keep it. So lots of options using just that DI. I like that the 1/4 out lets me HP and LP. So I can record both a direct and "mic'd" signal if I want. Also intrigued that everyone keep saying this responds like a real amp. That should make the cabsim hopefully not sound as static as some can. What's interesting about a good amped signal for me is that sometimes it just sits in a mix so much better than a DI'd one, even if it sounds a little highpassed when solo'd. I really did not want to mess with micing and recording an amp, so this seems like the perfect option. We shall see.
  22. It arrived earlier. I didn't notice it at the time but it looks like a Jazz bass neck with a precision decal from the front, but does actually turn into a telecaster guitar neck when I observe it from the back. I don't know how it does this, but I think it is warping spacetime — It gets several inches shorter and the number of holes in the headstock changes. I'm afraid to fit it now.
  23. Echo Beach - Marthur and the Muffins
  24. Cool little amp for home-practice or small-medium gigs. It’s only had light home use with me, and so is in as-new condition and boxed. Part-ex’s in the form of a Guild Starfire II in ‘Natural’ or a Sire P5R 5 string in white welcome! Collection preferred from near High Wycombe, but can post for £7. Cheers Si
  25. Performer diddled with for half an hour, then put into it's case for the first time in a long time (I had to repair the handle, and it's few outings in the last ten years have been in a jazz bass case).
