Boodang started following Which Octaver Pedal???
-
The new mxr bass synth pedal has a sledgehammer preset on it. It's probably the only preset on the pedal that you don't have to be precise with your playing.
-
I've been looking into different overdrive pedals and it is a bit of a minefield. I did originally have a Fender Bassman Driver pedal which was ok but I found it to be quite fussy, difficult to get a subtle tone and to be consistent. I like the look of the EHX Bass Soul Food but I'm liking the look of the Ampeg Bass Scrambler a bit more. Top of my list would be a Way Huge Small Pork and Pickle but for my needs which is just some subtle drive, its a little expensive and wasted on me, so I think its a bit overkill.

Storing a neck that is not attached to the bass
Beedster replied to Jeffskowski's topic in Repairs and Technical
I'd agree with the above if it was a new or recent neck, this neck is 45 years old, and might not have been under tension for some time. At the very least, I'd get it strung up, leave it for a while, and check there are no issues before I store it -
The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!

I love my USA Fallout, and the surf green Tribute I had before that. My only minor gripe is the bridge position. If they’d slid that back an inch or 2…. If G&L could have made a short scale more like the L1000/2000 body shape, I think that would have been perfect. -

Thanks you all for the suggestions, Most likely it will be the end of the fretboard. I'm not fond of placement on the body, everybody else allready does that. The advantage to place it above the 24th might be that the string movement is bigger while playing so the middel string won't cover the middle part of the logo all the time.. Before i'l make the final decision i'll put the strings on!

I thought they became the American vintage range after the avri reissues were discontinued and then American vintage 2? I have an avri 62 jazz master from 2001. I've barely ever played it as the nitro is so thin!

I have a folder with rehearsal reference recordings. The band plays a lot of the songs differently to the originals, an extra couple of bars here and there, timing changes, stops etc. Playing along to the originals is just the starting point.

Hook up a recording device to your PA then you have a track to rehearse to. Before long it'll be second nature

Cheers man, appreciate it. So what of the models made after 2012 - the model that preceded the American Originals, what were they called? -
Nev chucked a L2 at Arnie van Bussel in the shop - "hey Arn, catch" I think the touring Bassist for the Allman Brothers(?) had his gear run over by an 18 wheeler but it didn't break the Steinberger neck ( will try and verify it was in USA Bass Player)

The singer & guitar player, Mark, is a friend of a very close friend. I’ve heard great things about the band and would go and see them if I still lived down south.

The most troublesome and yet least important thing a band faces. Been there, compromised on that, numerous times. I’m still trying to get someone to use Post Burrito Depression (one of Tony Levin’s spares).

It seems they are. But the content is solid, they’re not teaching bad habits. The online world is a minefield at the best of times so I wouldn’t take the chance on anyone else. -
