  2. As also found on the Sire M6, so it's not just anonymous Chinese makers who do that.

I've got a pretty much identical 2015 American Std that I picked up from Bass Bros a couple of years ago for use in a Led Zep tribute. As you say, you can't really knock it - sounds like it's supposed to, looks the part, plays well and very robust. A great bass for not an awful lot of money. I've also got a 09 Am Std in natural with a white scratchplate, which is a really nice bass that I bought for less than a grand...!
  4. Yeah but pity the poor sod who paid £5k yesterday. Or those PRS with the casual £2500 off, that probably stings if you got one last week.
  5. Have you considered the Hils HNB5? There's also the upcoming Sire M6. The only thing about these is that there is currently only a fan-fret option. Kiesel also make headless basses: https://www.kieselguitars.com/models/bass
  6. Where did you get these?
  7. Ah I see you mentioned 17.5mm.
  8. Try listening to Fairfield Circuitry's The Accountant - tiny compressor enclosure that also delivers character/dirt/grit after a little experimentation.
  9. For sale is my Epifani amp. This has been my backup amp for a few years and has been used a few times. As I hope you can see from the pics, the amp is in full working order and will come with the following: · Original manual (in colour) · Carry case with strap · Rack ears · Kettle lead There is information on the web about the amp and Epifani in general. This is straightforward amp and the simple control set make it very easy to dial in your tone. Specifications - Power: 850W RMS @ 4 Ohms, Class A/B - Preamp: Solid State - EQ: 3-band with switchable treble frequencies (3 kHz and 6 kHz) and a mid-cut control - Tone Controls: Bass (shelving +22dB @ 40Hz), Mid (peak +17dB @ 550Hz), Treble (shelving +22dB @ 3kHz/6kHz) according to Esse Music Store - DI: Balanced, pre/post EQ - Cooling: Variable speed fan - Input: 1/4" TS (470k Ohms passive, 200k Ohms active) - Connectors: 1/4" TS input, SEND, RETURN, TUNER OUT, FOOTSWITCH (1/4" TRS), DIRECT OUT (XLR), SPEAKERS (combo Speakon) - Dimensions: 3.5" H x 12.5" W x 10" D - Weight: 7.5 lbs - Voltage: 110-240 Volts - Frequency Response: 20Hz - 25Hz I would prefer collection or meet up but I am prepared to post to UK mainland as I think I have enough suitable packaging. This would be at cost to you. £525 ovno please. Here are some pics:
  10. Clear or no scratchplate (what's this ghastly "pickguard" word?). Scratchplates are an abomination and a monstrosity created so Leo Fender could do all the routing from the front and save money, then perpetuated by Ernie Ball and then by most of the FSO and FakeRay builders.
  11. Still v expensive 4k for a telecaster 🫨
  12. How do you contact Ron Claassen on building a bass, does anybody on this thread ?, Thank you in advance.
  13. Baby Driver - Simon & Garfunkel
  14. You're absolutely right, @Silky999... I think the difference you can hear is the maple/rosewood fingerboards. Bass 1 is your build. Bass 2 is the Flea Signature.
  15. The points aren't the uncomfortable part, the body is actually quite nicely shaped. It's a big old thing but I'm 6' 4" so it actually looks and feels fairly natural on me! And I've managed to wrestle the neck dive under control too so it's really not too bad. I can certainly say that the very pointy headstock is fine for me but not very comfortable for my singer's head, both my guitarists, my drummer's hi hats, or my mates who came to watch us rehearse. Ask me how I know...
  16. I just got an advert for a sale at Andertons in my browser's discover section. There's not too much bass stuff there but in fairness what there is does look pretty reduced. If you happen to be shipping for mostly Warwick and Sire you'd be paying used prices for new gear. Not for me, just passing it along.

  18. Haha...addicts? I prefer to think in terms of aficionados...graphite composite necks have a certain sensitivity...
  19. Hey, that's my car! Mark
  20. Love mine. GLWTS.
  21. ordered a Lekato WS-70 wireless unit from AliExpress, under £16, what had I got to lose? I got to the checkout and the price was £8.30, I thought I'd got a new customer discount. The unit arrived today and its a HOHIYO A8, very flimsy but it works, but very dodgy practices, the original picture shows a Lekato but the check out picture (I've just checked) shows the Hohiyo, I shall complain but I'm not holding my breath

  22. Love it, had Trace since the early eighties, but got too many amps and no gigs...
  23. I don’t know but am interested to read the replies.
  24. Today
  25. Brilliant, I will drop you a line if things don't go tits up before we get to the logo stage!
  26. Love it! For the short time Chris Hillman was in the Byrds he was very influential. One of my favourite bands of all time. He was a mandolin player and not always a Guild Player. He also played a Precision and later in a come back a Stingray. But the Guild is as iconic as McGuinn’s Rickenbacker 12.
