Thanks but I'm never going to achieve that! I do have a little jig to hold your chisel at the right angle while you work it on the sharpening stone though, and that will have to do.

Thanks - it does the job! I did it with basic hand tools so the screw holes aren’t countersunk correctly. The drill bit I bought for the job just chewed up the plastic I tried it on so I had to improvise and they aren’t as deep as I would’ve liked. -
Bergantino CN112 Bass Cab Lightweight bass cab with 12’’ woofer and adjustable tweeter it weighs just under 13kgs and has a compact footprint. It is in very good condition and comes with original Bergantino cover also in good condition. There are some scuffs to the corners, etc but nothing major. Apparently it is the redesigned version of the classic AE112, it retains the clean/smooth detailed highs, from the acclaimed HD tweeter and cross-over, plus tight, smooth mids and plenty of low end that defies it’s size. 350 watts 8 ohms impedance. Selling as I have too many cabs and not enough opportunities to use them! Pickup preferred as I’m not sure I have a decent big enough box. Possibly post now at buyer’s cost as I have found a box.-

Christine did some work on a Tele body I needed a belly cut on. I drove over there in 30 minutes (unheard of at this end of the world) and marvelled at wood coming off in thin sheets like peeling paper. It made me want to learn to do woodwork. Proper sharpness right there.

Just wanted to add some extra info on the neck following enquiry by pm: It's not mega narrow, 41mm at nut, 55mm at 12th fret. But it is quite a flat profile, I make the neck thickness 21mm between 2nd and 3rd fret with a caliper. I got comparing to my ATK - There's only a couple of mm extra on the ATK both in width at neck and thickness at the nut. The critical difference though is that the GMR barely gets any thicker up the neck - it's still only a smidge over 21mm thick at the 12th fret, the ATK is 30mm, so that contributes a lot to the slim/fast feel of the neck even if it's not a nice narrow 38mm at nut. -
I bought one of these a few weeks ago; fantastic bass. Wide but really comfortable neck, and a huge range of sounds. Absolutely love it, and recommend this. Best of luck with the sale. -
As far as I remember, the neck was part of the centre block of rock maple, and then set into the walnut tone block. Rob called them "thru-necks" (see brochure scan above.) It's the same construction method as the graphite necked Empathy of the same time period, and latterly the S-2 Classic evolution. of the original Series-II. -

You got me thinking about the Gnome. Seems to have a lot of juice, and to me the sound is quite similar to the ELF. What do you all think about a Gnome plus a TC Electronics 2x8 mini setup for the studio and rehearsals? I could add another 8ohm 1x10 down the road for more lows. -

So I had to engage in a glue fight to get the fingerboard glued on ... hide glue everywhere including my bench, the floor, my hand towel, countless rags to clean up squeeze out ... er and my eyebrows! So from this ... to this ... A couple of hours on the bass before work today - went in for 7.00 as I wanted peace and quiet to do the glue up ... with no phone ringing! After 'gluemageddon' and a couple of hours of clamping ... Neck bolts snugged up to a pair of temporary nuts ... and technically the bass could be strung up and tested tomorrow ... but I've a few more things to do yet. The nuts are temporary as I found the stainless steel neck bolts I had bought are about 10mm too long to tighten fully ... gurrr ... more on order from Accu. I glued in the nut and started doing sone assessment of how much needs to be trimmed off the bridge feet to match them to the belly curve. not much as it goes. Looking forward to hearing its first notes in perhaps 30+ years soon. Then it'll be looking to a re finish. -

Last night was a spin off from the originals band. We're doing Postmodern Jukebox style stuff. Just upright bass, guitar, drums and vox, so we're arranging things differently as we haven't got the orchestration. It's good fun and was sounding great. Certain songs I need to be warmed up for, as walking bass lines on the upright can take their toll 😆 -
