  3. Wow! This is cool. It would be hard to find a female lead singer like that in my area. Daryl
  4. I'm not sure when they'll give me the " ok" to play sitting or standing. Daryl
  5. Today
  6. Also, no requirement to have the cab plugged in on a solid state amp. Run at zero volume for recording at home easy peasy!
  7. You could end run it by putting another DI in the fx loop. That will come before the Master volume.
  8. Your SansAmp will do the splitting for you, it has two pairs of outputs a pair of jacks and a pair of xlr's. One of each is a clean output the other tone shaped within the SansAmp. Simply plug your bass straight into the SA and take one of the outputs to the clean amp and the other to all the fx in your dirty channel
  9. Thirsty Pine in Gloucester. Nice big PA. Great audience, Great gig
  10. Not fun at all mate-hope its not a cracker, maybe just a rebreak & heavy casting ,still its going to interfere with the boring stuff that is life for a fair few weeks..........
  11. Can you bring a stool and sit down ?

  14. Either will work over a dominant 7th, but the G# emphasises the major tonality. (Listen to me! Dominant 7th , major tonality? I've watched a few bass tutorials on YouTube, now I'm starting to believe my own publicity and getting ideas above my station😄. If I get a six string bass and a looper you have my permission to shoot me.)
  15. Did you buy it on Facebook or through an auction house? Most auctions will argue their case on this and that the onus is on you to ensure the condition and originality before bidding. eBay is much more forgiving to the buyer. There are two ways to consider this. If it’s an investment for you, this is probably a bad one. If it’s a bass you want to play and enjoy for years to come it might be ok.
  16. Hope your insurance covers what you need 🤞🏼

  19. Tried that to no effect. However, when used with another pre-amp plugged in to the power amp the Ampeg volume pot is not in circuit.
  20. Wow. Thanks for the replies. It's definitely a dog's breakfast 😀 The dowel holes is an interesting observation @MrFingers thanks. I've been searching for natural-ish Hondo's for comparison. I can't find any that show dowel holes. The ferrule holes are pretty shocking. Most of the Hondo's I can find have them straight - this initially made me think it was a DIY job (possibly meaning it's not a Hondo). I suppose if you set the bridge how you want it and then drill pilot holes from the front, you'll end up with something like this. But I did find some Hondo's that were similar like this one on reverb: and this one on gumtree: I somehow didn't even notice the brown inlays on the fretboard 🙄 Again, I've been search for examples of anything at all with brown dots but can't find any. Just another wierd customisation? A close up Another interesting bit is the scratchplate. It appears to have had a switch fitted at some point and then the whole covered: Why would it need a switch? That makes me think the scratch plate might also be from another bass - one that maybe had a PJ setup, like this.... also a Hondo but I don't think the PJ setup is standard. Those knobs look familiar. A few more images... Side view of neck join showing fretboard Back of headstock with tuners Front of headstock Thanks again!
  21. As you say Marc, they have ‘standard’ pickups but an active preamp, so will work fine if the preamp is disconnected. I had a Fender ‘Noiseless’ bridge pickup fitted in mine, as some venues I used to play caused interference issues , and I left it in - still got the original though. I used mine for nearly 15 years touring theatres with a tribute band, and it proved to be great. The light weight meant I could do nightly sets of around two hours with no discomfort to my problematic shoulder. I set it with a lower action too, and learned not to dig in so much and let the amp do the work, which again worked fine for me. In all that time I never had to adjust the neck once, just using the same gauge sets of D’Addarios. The thin neck on it is sublime ( and this was for someone used to standard Precision necks!) It’s still my main electric bass, and I can’t ever see me parting with it.
  22. Fretless ex-demo 6-string, 15% off, just under £7k, presumably plus VAT and duty.
  23. Hey guys and gals. 66 year old wanna be here. So I am back in the game recently and have a rig I want to set up. In the past it was just an amp into cabinets. I never used effects or a separate preamp. I have a GK MB fusion 800 and GK NEOs 2x12 and 4x10. That was my rig I used to use and am using now. I recently acquired a rackmount Sans Amp RBI and a GK RB 800 amp. I also have a DBX 160x compressor from my "studio". My idea is to use one amp into each cab, one for a "clean" tone cab [the 4x10?] and the other into a "dirty tone cab" [the 2x12?]. How do I use the Sans Amp? Just into the "clean" cab? I also am in the process of building my first effects pedalboard that I wish to incorporate into this rig. [I have a Source Audio SA-143 filter, Digitech Whammy, the Chancellor Dunlop foot pedal, OC-5 octave, Kasleder Albatross, Darkglass B3K, tcElectronics Sentry, MXR Bass Chorus, Screen Violence and the Keeley Caverns.] I had this idea and now I am unsure of how to safely hook all of it up. I know I need a splitter. I am sure all of this can be done. But I need my hand held to guide me into the specifics. Simple things like do I use instrument cables to connect everything except the speakers? All these years and I never gave a thought about how to hook up anything other just a simple amp/cab rig. Then I got this crazy idea and started to buy shit. I guess finally having time / money / motivation caused all of this. And now i feel I am in over my head. Anyways I would appreciate the assist on how to hook all of this up the way I want it. Thanks in advance.
  24. Happy to post in with the price
  25. Thanks, sound advice (excuse the pun) and its good to know I'm not alone. No more peeking at other basses for me for a while, well maybe a quick peek before I sleep!😂 Note: I'll know how the Spectorcore works by next weekend, maybe I try try a comparison
  26. Final bump, bass will go to the gallery on Monday much love
  27. Maybe if the guitarist knew its wrong he might have enough self respect to want to play it correctly?
