  2. Is that 48cm at the longest point, i.e. down the middle of the surfboard? A 43 x 29 blank like this would give you 51cm corner-to-corner.
  3. The phrase "above and beyond" comes to mind. Ted was kind enough to meet me half way to make a deal for his MarkBass cab, and i cant thank him enough for that. Top man. Much appreciated. Thanks Ted
  4. Hipshot want $70 to ship adapter bushings from the US…
  5. Ultra rare 32" medium scale Squier JV Jazz, made in Japan 1982-1984. This is a quality vintage instrument. Fantastic clear sound. Very easy to play with a nice low action. Weighs approx 3.5kg. Even though its medium scale, it doesnt feel like the frets size make it difficult to play at all. I'm looking for trades, but only with a passive P type bass. I can make a cash adjustment for the right bass. Bonus points for a J neck. What ya got? I can courier, but it comes with all the normal risks. Any other questions just give me a shout.
  6. Strings Direct have them listed on their site, when I enquired in April they had none in stock and no idea if they would be able to obtain any more, their site still states “coming soon”. Looking at other website forums, it would appear that Musicman cannot source the original input sockets, they were manufactured by a third party and they are no longer in business, the one Musicman offer on their site is not like for like and has to be modified to fit.
  7. I played the charcoal P the other day and was honestly blown away. I was ready to be critical given the price, also not a P bass expert either. Both being said, it was light, resonant, felt great quality. The roadworn nature was subtle, tasteful and detailed. Really really impressed.
  8. I got this bass around the beginning of the year from EAD. Really cool bass. Looks great and plays superbly well! HUGE range of tonal options. Here are its mods: The original light oak finish has been stripped back and the body lightly stained with a black oil finish. The headstock has been reshaped (hint of Fodera maybe?). New tuners fitted (originals have been lost in the mists of time). Pickup and electronics are all original (and work fine). New knobs (again the originals are AWOL). Bridge cover and thumb rest added. The bass weighs 4kgs on my digital scales. I can post but would prefer a meet up. I am happy to look at trades for a passive P type bass. I can put cash on top for the right bass. Extra points for a J neck.
  9. Made in Ensenada rather than standard Mexico now? May have been a thing for a while, I haven’t owned a MIM Fender for about 15 years, so I’m a bit out of touch! 🤓
  10. I have always played in cover bands and I cannot recall anytime when a song has been rejected by any of the members due to any of the reasons mentioned throughout this thread, if it’s a great song and we feel we can do it justice, then it’s in the set. We do not put every song suggested through a microscope and we certainly feel no need to offer the audience a trigger warning before playing specific songs, we play live to entertain an audience and enjoy ourselves while doing it.
  11. Does the amp use an Icepower module or is it a proprietary design?
  12. Genuine Fender Jazz Bass pickguard in white. 10-hole, still has the plastic cover. £20 delivered to any UK address. Payment by PayPal ‘gift’ or BT please. PM for any info, thanks for looking! SB 😀
  13. Or perhaps a custard cream. Very yummy anyway.
  14. That’s a bargain for a 1970s Fender. Is there a reason why you have redacted part of the serial number, which might be useful information to potential buyers? Not that I’m one, sadly. It looks a lovely thing, especially the way the finish has aged to a creamy custard. GLWTS anyway.
  15. Planet Smasher - Devin Townsend
  16. I need 2nd Jazz bass in my life

  17. I don't know, I know nothing about them!
  18. My guitarist bought me little knob covers because I’ve been so excited about mine literally since April. So now all your anagrams look weird to me 🤣

  20. I don’t find it confusing at all. If something inspires you and gives your life meaning go for it. If you are doing it with sincerity I don’t think it’s anybody else’s business to judge. I always got the impression George Harrison was profoundly moved by his experiences in India and had a genuine love for the country and the music. He did things his way. The only way to do things.
  21. The hunt goes on unfortunately
  22. The bridge cover is off a 51p, probably not original
  23. A bag of gravel a week...? LUXURY. I like the hotcovers stuff - good quality at a decent price. Their website doesn't say if they're made in the UK (I think they are... have emailled to ask) I had some Roqsolid stuff in the past and found them a bit flimsy butr to be fair, I probably had the cheapest option stuff. EDIT: Hotcovers stuff is made in the UK (They didn't say if their workers work 29 hours a day and pay them for permission to come to work and when they get home, their mothers and fathers kill them and dance on their graves singing Hallelujiah. I assume not.)
  24. Not sure that the fade is the main reason why this bass looks iffy…
  25. World Machine - Level 42
  26. Totally... I agree... B & C direct are also UK based & the factory is in Wakefield ... What has been described to me sounds like of similar quality.. but not received it yet, so we shall see......
