Gasman started following What's Unique About Your Primary Band?
-
I'm now a one-man band (that's what I am, nobody knows or understands) after being forced to leave my covers band through illness (stroke) So my unique points are: 1. No gigs, no audience (except my cat who doesn't rate me at all) so readily available 2. Unique wobbly sax tone (embouchure shot) 3. Quietest bass sound ever (headphones only for occasional practice with Youtube) Perfect for funeral parlour mood music,,,

Read some of @joel406 other posts last night, seems he only has one thing to say, but boy he really does like saying it 😒

Why does Scott Devine hate Sadowsky basses?
Terry M. replied to TheGhostofJaco's topic in Bass Guitars
It would appear then that Sadowsky adopted the 4+1 headstock before Fender did.I've always preferred that personally over the 5 in-line design. -
You're gonna need a Badass on there Andy

As it turns out, I can! I didn’t realise there was anyone still making them - but there’s a fella on Facebook who’s in the Future Impact group, and I’m now in touch. Yay! -

"So much for free speech in America". Funny how those who bang on about "free speech" get twitchy when others exercise their right to it, isn't it? Btw, this is the UK. Instead of being a grown-up and saying "Let's agree to differ", they throw insults around and behave like kids in the playground. I suspect this is because they are really looking for validation, so when someone disagrees with them, they cannot deal with the existence of a contrary opinion and take it as a personal affront. Truly a sad state of affairs. Love the thread title, too. "How freedom feels", rather than something adult, such as "I prefer not to use backline". Enjoy munching those freedom fries and wearing that MAGA hat (which, if you check the label, you will find was made in China). You have yourself a wonderful day

molan started following NBBD relic build, a touch of Adam Clayton
-
I’ve had a go at something similar, and for the same reason! Mine was based on the Lakland Clayton P style signatures. US body, McIntyre J neck, some vintage hardware I had kicking around and a US custom wound pickup - must track down my invoice for that as it was quite expensive!

The connections to the tone pot could be slightly different, but the output jack tip will always be connected to the same tab as the connection from the volume pots.

molan started following Help for more information please......
-
I’ve had a first trawl back on my emails and can’t find any information on this. The neck marking does look familiar and I have a feeling it is a Rick’s Fine 52 build but can’t be sure. If so, everything will be very high quality with some hardware being original and everything else being ‘period correct. I have some Bassgear archive material buried away. I’ll try to dig that out and see if there’s anything there.
-
Oh you can't really. I mean if you're like me, your brain will fill in the blanks on that when you can see the pickup and where you're playing, but nah all I'm talking about is the general resonant quality of the instrument. The more it resonates, the better it seems to sound unplugged, and that often translates when amplified. Visa Versa, if a bass sound and feels dead unplugged, pickups don't do much to help. YMMV!

This is as hard-hitting as Lucinda’s songs, and to be frank it’s a wee bit too honest. But that makes it compelling reading, so if you like her music it’s a solid investment. If you don’t know who she is, consult YouTube immediately… Hardback, very good condition. RRP £20, yours for £13 posted. Now just £11.
