Does anyone know how to wire a 3 way switch?
Delberthot replied to Phaedrus01's topic in Repairs and Technical
On the diagram I can see brown going to one side of the switch and yellow to the other. Then there's a red wire going to the volume pot. White, green and black go to the bottom of the switch and then onto the back of the volume pot. -
Couriers (yet again)... a new one on me - handling charges.

Yeah - they'll accept them. They just won't pay out. Dodgy practice if you ask me. -
I too am going through my gear and giving away pieces os I go along. I have so much equipment that I hardly know where to start! LOL

They will ship guitars in cases but I do not take out insurance with them regardless. Third Party companies give you a far better deal; I've just sent a bass insured for £500 with Securus and the premium was £5... £22 if I took it with PF but I'd have reservations of them even paying out. -

Agreed. As the business starts to scale prices will go up so it’s becomes a similar price to other studios, minus all the good stuff.

It’s a thick, gnarly, and harmonically rich fuzz … Based on the Tall Font Green Russian/ Civil War Muff circuit … So strong with that mix friendly mid character, and retaining the low end that makes this particular Muff so bass-friendly. This one is indeed bass friendly. There’s something more to this pedal though. The secret sauce is in the tone sweep. As DBA put it … “A specially designed multi-curve shaping filter which changes the timbre of the pedal from super deep bass sludge to screaming highs”. This makes for something more versatile than your average 3-knob Muff, sure. It’s killler. Plenty love for it out there anyway. Check the reviews. One of the harder to find pedals from the increasingly collectible 7 Series Tonelok range. It’s an excellent phaser for bass, with a wide array of control options that allow you to the scope to craft a useable mix-friendly phase tone. The effect operates at unity, with no lift nor drop in volume, and no loss of low end whatsoever. Though fundamentally a phaser, the PM7’s modulation capabilities can extend to territories way beyond the norm. The control set achieves the following … Speed: adjusts the speed of the vibrations. They become faster the more this is turned to the right. Depth: adjusts the depth of the vibrations. They become deeper the more this is turned to the right. Manual: Adjusts the level of the phase-shifted tone. The level is increased and the effect strengthened the more this is turned to the right. Feedback: Adjusts the amount of feedback. Turning this to the right applies normal-phase feedback, and turning it to the left applies inverted-phase feedback. In either case, the sound will become more distinctive. Mode 1/2/3: Selects from three types of phases … - 4-stage phaser with invertedphase mix. Vintage sound. - 6-stage phaser with invertedphase mix. Deep phasing sound. - 6-stage phaser with normal-phasemix. Deep phasing sound. Waveform: Selects the modulation waveform (the "shape" of modulation). - Triangle wave: Produces conventional phaser sounds. - Square wave. Produces step-sequencer-like sounds. - High-frequency wave. Produces sounds like a ring modulator or FM synthesizer. The Ibanez 7 Series pedals are the bomb. The Maxon engineers were thinking outside the box, to be sure. Have a listen to the opinion of Josh Scott (JHS) about this. Royal Mail ‘Signed For’ postage is included in price (UK only). If you like drones, long, Indefinitely held notes or passages, to sculpt, build and move between layers, morph ambient textures … in their own right, to solo over, or to underpin a multi layer bass part … Then one of these is worth looking at. It does everything the Freeze does, but so much more. Most notable for me was its own effects loop, and the possibilities for signal chain placement and the potentially endlessly added depths to the frozen effect that the loop affords, whilst keeping your realtime bass licks otherwise unaffected, if so desired. The options and degree of functionality are wild. It’s an extremely versatile and powerful creative tool that opens a world of musical possibilities. Check out the YouTube bass demos, and EHX product info … It’s deep. I must say … I love this pedal, and wouldn’t be selling it had I not recently acquired a Superego + Royal Mail ‘Signed For’ postage is included in price (UK only). Beautifully crafted delay pedal from Walrus Audio, tactile, with a really intuitive control set … feature rich, but simple to use. It’s a piece of kit that invites creativity. Works very well with bass guitar. No mud at all. The quality in this pedal is obvious to the ear … But hey, there are many fine words about the Arp87 around internetland if you do some trawling. Pirate started well but it is a concept that requires respect from the users. There's so much potential for abuse.

No. They still won't pay out even if their own additional insurance is purchased. The guys on thefretboard seem to use Overland Express - they were set up by a guitarist who is a member over there. I've not needed to use them as I haven't sold anything bass sized for ages, but the f'boarders seem pleased. -
Pubs and venues to be protected from noise complaints
stingrayPete1977 replied to Cliff Edge's topic in General Discussion
Oh we love it over here, it's standard practice to buy a house by a school and complain about the noise at playtime, buy a house next to a main road then start a campaign to stop it being used by lorries. The most common one is to buy a house with little or no parking and then leave notes on legally parked cars asking them not to park outside in "their space". -
This is true, pirate's facilities could probably stand to be staffed better, or at all, but they do at least have luxurious amenities like fire escapes and up-to-code wiring. That's more than can be said for a lot of studios in London.

That's lovely! There's not enough green basses around.

I am thinning the bass herd to fund some bass building workshop machinery so selling my Ibanez SR1000EFM Prestige 2005. An upgraded, gig-ready beast loaded with Aguilar pickups, a John East Uni-Pre 3-band preamp, and Lumilay side dots that glow in the dark — perfect for low-light gigs and studio sessions. This isn’t your average Ibanez — it’s a boutique-level tone machine with the playability and feel you’d expect from a Prestige model. It was made during the time that the top of the range prestige line were being made in Korea. It’s been freshly strung with new Elixir Nanoweb strings, so it’s ready to go straight out the case. Specs & Upgrades: Neck-thru construction with Ibanez SR thin and fast neck Aguilar pickups – warm, articulate, and punchy East Uni Preamp – crystal-clear EQ, lots of tonal control Lumilay side dots – visible in the dark, super useful live Schaller strap lock buttons Original Ibanez hard case – included New Elixir strings – smooth, long-lasting tone Couple of small dings – purely cosmetic, the mark on the side of the body was a gouge that was repaired and refinished. shown in photos Setup recently done by Selborne Guitars – plays fast and clean This bass is ideal for players who want modern tone, top-tier upgrades, and a slick professional look without going full custom-shop prices. More pics available on request. Collection only from Fleet, Hampshire Try before you buy welcome Drop me a message if you’re interested or have questions!

Apparently, the Modulus made early necks were a myth (rrp of a modulus neck was almost as much as the rrp of the G Bass), and they are not actually carbon necks as marketed, they have a maple core with a carbon wrap. Still cracking basses for the money of course, but really interesting marketing choice from Peavey; the manual literally says it's a Carbon Graphite neck with no mention of it being mostly wood. Crazy but there you go. Still want it!

OUCH !!! that's approx £650 over here. How long ago was that ya numpty. (Can i call you that without offending ?) 😂 Dave

Does anyone know how to wire a 3 way switch?
ezbass replied to Phaedrus01's topic in Repairs and Technical
I might be being daft here (or blind) but aren’t the yellow, green (pair one), brown & white (pair two) as shown in the diagram? The black wire in the diagram is your (surround) earth. Edit: hang on, I see what you’re saying now, the actual colours of the pickup don’t match the box description and diagram 🤦🏻 (sorry, I’ve been slow here). If that’s the case, you probably need to contact the supplier/manufacturer. -
