I would keep the line. It looks neat and intentional. If anyone asked how you did such a thin line you don’t have to tell them the truth 😉

Sky Arts and other music related programmes
casapete replied to PaulWarning's topic in General Discussion
Saturday evening (23rd August) there are some interesting programmes on BBC2. Starting at 9.10pm is ‘We want the funk’, a documentary showing the roots of funk right through to Parliament - Funkadelic. This is followed at 10.30 by a showing of James Brown at London’s Electric Proms from 2006, and then at 11.30pm is the original classic movie ‘Shaft’ from 1971. -

This was on my board for a few years, never let me down but just fancied a change so I’ve got a boss chorus on the board now. The toneprint options make it a pretty versatile pedal, found myself mostly using the Duff McKagan toneprint. No original box for this unfortunately but will be packaged securely. Price includes postage in the UK, cheers

Got this in a trade on here recently but it’s just not got much use. Between the green Russian and the grey stache that I own I have my fuzz needs covered. This one is two big muffs running in parallel, one of them has a standard tone control, the other has a mid boost/cut. Certainly a lot to play with and a lot of sounds to be gotten out of it! No original box with this but will be packaged securely. Price will include postage in the UK

I got it at GAK March 2024 as an early birthday present - I sorted it out through one of the staff there Ryan who I had a few email conversations with about it. My local luthier set it up for me with the new strings and the old ones are included. I assume it was made in late 23 or very early 24 as it’s a newer model and relatively recent addition to the Hofner range. I’ve enclosed pictures of the booklet which has the matching serial number to the inside label - you can even see the name of the craftsman handwritten on the label. Hofner really know how to make something special. I’m sure Hofner would be able to find the exact date for you if needed. If you want pictures of the inside label and serial number and are seriously interested please PM me.

Electro-Harmonix Clone Theory Vintage Chorus Pedal NYC Made 70’s/80’s This is the one made famous in the 80’s by musicians including Peter Hook, John McGeoch and again later by Kirk Cobain. You can get sweeping chorus, subtle vibrato, to mad flange and synth like sounds from this unit. It’s a hard wired mains unit and the casing has plenty of dings and touch ups to the paint. It works perfectly and sounds great. These are quite rare now. I’ve owned two and this is the one that is all original. It’s an old pedal and like most vintage EH gear a bit noisy but it’s not a particular issue for live gigs.

Basses that look like highly figured table tops. Sandberg headstocks. Flats. Straight jackplugs out of the body. Strat jackplates. Referring to a bass as she or her. Gig bags that aren't fit for purpose. While I ran a Darkglass AO900 head for a while, I didn't bond with it, so Darkglass AO900 heads. Reissues that are simply all wrong. Reissues.

QSC CP12 Active PA Speaker 1000 Watts One of two - priced individually or for a small discount if sold as a pair. This speaker is as new and has not been used since purchase. It comes with additional QSC waterproof cover for outdoor use. Very powerful speakers however I’m downsizing and selling my larger portable PA gear. Street price is £579 cheapest I can find so this is a good saving. The covers cost an extra £67. The user manual is included. I have two of these for sale. I can knock off £40 if you buy the pair. Pickup definitely preferred but talk to me if this is impossible. UK only. Postage would be at buyer’s cost and I’d need to source packaging as the boxes have been recycled. These speakers get glowing reviews in Sound on Sound magazine - https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/qsc-cp-series I own a pair of QSC CP8s which are perfectly fine for keyboard monitoring and rehearsal PA so these aren’t needed now for personal use. Roland SH-09 Vintage Mono Synth 1980 Classic early Roland synth in working condition. The synth works well for a 45 year old but could do with a service. The keys all trigger, a couple have been repaired many years ago and the bottom F can miss fire occasionally. The portamento slider is a little wayward and probably needs a new slider. All the other knobs and switches work as they ought to and the synth plays in tune up and down the board. There are a couple of replacement slider caps. There are some rusty patches on the fascia. That said it sounds fantastic, easy to use with PWM and a sub oscillator. A classic mono synth for a reasonable price. Pickup preferred but can send in the UK at buyer’s cost.

Marvin started following Microphone shocking

Our singer is saying that she's getting an electrical sensation when holding the microphone. Someone suggested that the phantom power might be on on the mixer. However, I can't remember seeing the phantom power light on on the mixer and the guitarist said he checked it was off. The sensation is all the time. She's tried a different mic, changed the cable, stood a a rubber floor mat, not stood on the mat. Still the same. The phantom power seemed the obvious culprit but apparently not (unless there's a fault in the desk). Any ideas? Ta.

Well, I still love and play my first ever bass - an Aria SB700 - and have and play the basses I bought 33 and 24 years ago and my 20 year old Frankenjazz, I guess not. That said I bought a Sandberg this year, which I love. But that doesn’t mean I’ve abandoned the others.
-
Thanks both, much appreciated, I have a starting point now. Got to spend more time with the levels as I build an effect. Cheers, Darren.

In the black area where neck meets the body, you could round the neck end concave instead of convex.
