Having just checked out the "up and coming" Nottingham Girlband, there's not an enormous overlap between them and previously-named Girlband. Girlband are a straightforward Lady Parts-ish band, and Gilla Band are not up-and-coming due to being a bit too Leftfield. Luckily they didn't call themselves that! like this:

I suggested they change their name to Metallica instead

Excellent condition (pedal almost ‘as new’, box is a little more beaten) MXR Studio Comp. This is famously EXACTLY the same circuit as the MXR Bass Comp, but with a different enclosure. MXR did this to sell it more effectively to the guitar market. To be fair, I think it looks smarter than the Bass Comp. This is MXR’s take on an 1176 comp I believe. Not much else to say, solid pedal, nice transparent sound, effective compression. Cool. £120 inc UK postage. No trades unless you have a Guild Starfire II in ‘Natural’ or a Sire P5R 5 string in white (+money your way of course 😅). Cheers Si

Selling my SVT-CL, glorious sounding amp but I haven't needed to use it much over the past year. All works flawlessly and come with a cover (has a lot of marks on it) This has a few knock marks which I've tried to show in the pictures but nothing that affects performance. it is nearly 20 years old. This is a US Built one and the serial number puts it at Feb 2007 which would make it one of the last ones built in the US before manufacturing moved. Collection only as this is a heavy bit of iron with valves! Collection from Sandy, Bedfordshire. £850

Cheers guys, I have the NC (2009) model 🙂.

I think they're past the point of easily being able to change their name. To do that, you either have to be completely unknown or have an enormous following (like Slaves when they changed to Soft Play).

Hi , for sale my FERNANDES / BURNY RLC- 60 - AF Les Paul with fitted case . Three pickup (selector... Neck ........ Middle / Bridge.........Bridge ) Three piece Maple top , three piece mahogany body , three piece Maple neck ( no scarf joint where headstock meets neck ) Weight approx 10 lb , some light marks on body , otherwise great condition . Includes a new non original fitted case , and free Mainland UK Delivery I was informed by the moderators for Fernandes / Burny forum website that it is a 2012 , made in china . These , IMHO , are the nearest thing to an original Les Paul you can get for a copy . Pete

But there's no point (IMO) in having a "transparent" amp if you cab(s) aren't transparent too.

Love 'em! I was confused by mentions of Girlband from Nottingham...

Just wouldn’t have been possible on the last gig, no spare mics, inexperienced sound guy and I’m just the sideman who can’t be making such demands/adding so much complexity just for me

Spent many hours (and pounds) in Electro Music. Always very friendly staff and varied stock. Don't live around there anymore, so since EMS stopped trading, there's nothing in Doncaster anymore. Rich Tone in Sheffield is a great, and Rockem in Rotherham is great for drum stuff.
