Yeah, I think this is the one for me. Loved the QC except for the size. Honestly a Dual Cortex would’ve been perfectly sufficient for my needs at a reduced price but this looks epic. The smaller form factor combined with the v2 captures which are apparently a big improvement on the already impressive v1 is a great sell. It ain’t cheap and obviously there’s the Anagram but the ecosystem of captures out there vs NAM and ease of doing my own are the thing that’s put me off. I’ve never been a fan of the bass focused drives I’ve tried in the past, all my favourites are guitar centric so the bass-focused side of the Anagram is actually a little off putting.

I don't think it was this one, but still, I can hear the difference:-

Dood started following Reverse P pickup configuration
-
There's a great example video on YouTube I saw a while ago. Its very subtle but the timbre does change from one position to the other. Three of my basses are reverse P (notably the Fender Power Jazz Bass Special model) and I have reviewed a good pile Spector basses over the years with reverse P pickups in them too. Tonally I prefer the sound of my 76 precision with the standard layout but one thing that certainly does sound WAY better is a PJ set in the reverse configuration. The D&G strinsg need that distance between the coils of the P and J to sound less thin together.

Seriously, so were some of the CDs, including some fairly niche compilations that were out of licence.

Just released (Probably to coincide with NAMM). Looks just the ticket for us who like a few outboard pedals with a modeller!

Does Your Covers Band Change Songs? What Changes and Why?

Good point, live arrangement for a studio recording to make it more dynamic, makes sense. -
I’ve e-mailed Banger Films. [email protected]

Silky999 started following New Bass Bridge, How many...

+1 for the Gotoh. It’s now the bridge of choice for my builds. Excellent quality at a reasonable price. I have also used some of the Guyker and Wilkinson bridges if you wanted to go more budget friendly.

Does Your Covers Band Change Songs? What Changes and Why?
jensenmann replied to Sean's topic in General Discussion
Original bands often change their songstructures, why not a covers band, too. It has nothing to do with the intention to improve a "flawed" hit song. My band often moves parts, plays songs longer, give certain parts a different vibe. It simply catches the crowd´s attention, which is good. -

Just liberated a G&L L2000 from Jamie’s ownership. Great bass, exactly as described, and Jamie’s a pleasure to deal with - thank you 😎

Love that song! Over The Hills And Far Away - LZ

To the best of my knowledge, the only one in the UK.

The disc is years old and out of print, so I doubt the maker will honour anything.

GAS is a a terrible thing. So there I was all content after a really good year, then boom and 'must have ' bass punched a mighty hole in the budget. So, my two latest acquisitions need new homes. They are brand effectively and we all know the G & L story so this is it, want a new one?, you wont find any better. Here is my surf green SB-2. Without question a bass out on its own, spicy MFD pickups (with their trademark adjustable pole pieces), Twin volume control which on other SB-2s i have found to be really easy to dial in a volume/tone needed. That said the modder in me has purchased the dual concentric knobs ready for a stacked volume tone per pickup (like the early Jazz basses). I can throw those in. This hasnt been gigged (one jam session tho..) so is 10/10 perfect. Vinyl wrapped black plate (easily removed if needed..plain black underneath). I know i'll regret letting this go, they are going to be a cult classic imho. This was bought literally a week before G & L went out of business, so one of the last out the door. Fully set up with EB slinkies set on all fressh and ready to go. I can arrange shipping at buyers expense insured (or uninsured at buyers risk).

They are brand effectively and we all know the G & L story so this is it, want a new one?, you wont find any better. Check out my other listing for my SB-2 or take a look at this... NOW £450 Anywho. 3 TSB Jazz bass, the G & L version, spicier pickups than your average J type bass in this price range. Beautifully finished and in 10/10 condition. Vinyl wrapped plate easily removed . I have been after a nice example of this since seeing Ritchie Kotzens 'riot'. I finally pulled the trigger on this new one in the early summer and very pleased i am too or was until i fell for 'another' way more expensive J beast. As with the SB-2 i'd love to keep it but needs must. I love the bridges on these bad boys. Fully set up with fresh EB slinkies. Can ship at buyer expense, pickup from Rochester or exchange somewhere near to the M25.

I remember in early 80's i had to work outside on a liquid Oxygen back up system to the steelworks and it was -26 oC. Even with gloves on your hands were freezing cold. I can still remember the inside of my nose freezing up and my eyes starting to nip. Didn't help that it was open to fields and a breeze blowing across us. This was a call out job during the night when i was early 20's. Not so happy memories working in those conditions. It took me hrs to heat up again in the workshop afterwards. Dave

Thanks for the explanation understood! But as I lean a little towards the "it sounds like a bass" camp, I won't be contributing much to the discussion 😆.
