RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) Just a heads up ! I’m not going . I’ll stay with the memories I have of the times I’ve seen them in the past ! For those of you who are going ( or trying hard to get tkts), I wish you good luck ! Let us know the cost 😀 Edited 6 hours ago by RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE 1 Quote
WinterMute Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I'm going to Toronto in August, I've seen them maybe 20 times over the years, they're my all-time favourite band. I'm really stoked to see what they'll do with the songs and the staging, it won't be Rush, that band died with Neil Peart, but Lee and Lifeson are way too good to quit, Anika Nilies is a phenomenal drummer and it'll be a chance to see how those boys play their music in a different format. I'll be trying for tickets for the O2 in 2027 too. Quote
cetera Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Yep, heard last week that this was to be announced today. Will try for tickets but if they're as expensive as I'm expecting, I may have to sadly withdraw from going... 1 Quote
Bassassin Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Not up for spending £300+ for ticket to watch a tired nostalgia act from the back of some soulless, cavernous enormodrome, doing precisely what they swore they would never do. Last time I saw them they were touring a concept album which was the best thing they'd done in decades. And a fitting end point to a remarkable career as artists and performers. Happy to leave it there, personally. 1 Quote
Lozz196 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I’ve never seen them before so will consider it, depending on cost etc Quote
prowla Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I last saw them on the Clockwork Angels tour at the O2. TBH, I've felt more involved listening to an album or watching a gig on TV. They've recently decided to cash in in any way they can; their re-releases are too expensive and I'm not up for paying inflated prices on tickets. It's a bit disappointing, really. Quote
wateroftyne Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I've got mixed feelings, but I'm probably going to go to Manchester... unless the tickets are even more extortionate than I expect. Quote
hiram.k.hackenbacker Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I will be trying to get tickets. I’ve been put off going to big gigs by the demand pricing that has permeated the booking systems, but Rush are are of the very few names I’m willing to overlook that for. Just to see them again at the Taylor Hawkins Trib was good; this will be great. FWIW I think the Super Deluxe re-releases are great. Anyone heard the Terry Brown remix of Distant Early Warning? The Power Windows SD might even have been announced by the time they get here 🤘 Quote
Rich Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Predictably, "UK" = Glasgow, Manchester and London. They might as well be on feckin Jupiter. Edited 3 hours ago by Rich Quote
Wombat Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) If there is money there I'm sure we will see a gig... Edited 3 hours ago by Wombat Typo Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago For the price of the tickets I’d rather get one of these instead .. Quote

hiram.k.hackenbacker Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm probably being a bit sensitive, but putting Rush as "Rush" (by which I presume you're suggesting it's not really Rush) is a bit odd. Do you therefore think that the first album, containing several songs which feature on their most recent live sets, is not Rush either as Peart wasn't involved? Rush eh? Constantly dividing opinions 🤣 1 Quote
Misdee Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) It was inevitable. I wish them well, but suffice to say I won't be going. Living in a world where Rush exist but without Neil Peart still feels pretty weird to me. Nevertheless, I hope everyone who goes has a great time. One thing you can be sure of is that the musicianship will be on-point. Edited 1 hour ago by Misdee Quote

Constantly dividing opinions 🤣 Well we all know the history , but I just don’t feel it tbh . Neil was the main songwriter , and of course an unstoppable force live and on record . I’ve seen a lot of Annika’s drumming on you tube .This was before the announcement of her joining Rush .She is phenomenal..but I can’t imagine her moving around so much as Neil did . I can’t see the warmth . Plus of course Geddy’s voice is not what it was. Some of their stuff has been downturned live to accommodate. He was struggling on the clockwork angels tour . Then there is the cash grab side of things ; expensive tkts ( apparently) , plus the huge price of reissued stuff such as the Grace Under Pressure Live set etc. I’ll wait for the dvd / download. Yeah , it’s true that Rush do indeed divide options . Fans disliking the modern stuff or hating the prog stuff etc . It’s only my opinion though 🙂 Quote

ezbass Posted 1 minute ago Posted 1 minute ago Part of me wants to go but, ticket price aside, I have to get there (Glasgow), it will entail an overnight stay, etc - in short, very expensive. Ged’s voice probably won’t be great (despite recent coaching) and, not detracting from Annika’s massive talent, Neil won’t be there. I’m massively torn. Quote
