I'm hoping for a flame throwing keytar and a 1000 Furby backing group.

Loop-based from a single 555 timer, obviously!

Could be an interesting exercise in using Eurovision to raise an interesting artist's profile, rather than actually trying to win the thing.

Hope the guy does well off the back of it.

After all the shit of the last few years - not just Eurovision but everything - could this be the turning point......?

No. I can't see this particular choice of UK song contest entrant having a seismic impact on world affairs Chris.

Does anyone really care about Eurovision anyway...?

It's a very, very outdated and tired idea IMHO.

Viewing figures suggest otherwise - as does the amount of Eurovision parties that happen around the country.

Fake news! 😁

Kind of compliments the fake acts, fake songs vibe though... 🤔

My wife is a huge fan and she’s made lifelong friends around the contest. In terms of relevance, it’s probably got more than another Dark Side of the Moon rerelease or scraping the barrel for another Beatles out take.

Its all harmless fun and long may it continue!

I never really "got" Eurovision til last year, when I watched it as an entertainment show rather than as a music show, and really enjoyed it. A def sign that I`ve gotten old methinks.

Well. Hopefully he’ll do something a bit more notable than recent entries…although I had a soft spot for Sam Ryder’s 2nd place song Spaceman in 2022/3 (can’t remember the year)

I love it - but I'm not thrilled that certain entries have been allowed in at the moment. And I wonder what on earth the organisers will do if they win.

With the way that the voting is carried out (nil points handed out to whoever we don’t like, irrespective of whether their song is any good) I can’t see this happening, but strange things can happen.

Good on them for choosing someone genuinely different. I think part of the apathy in the UK stems from the fact that a lot of other countries seem to take Eurovision quite seriously, whilst our committee seems content to phone it in! Every few years they decide to try something different lazily squidging together a forgettable Airfix pop group, so I guess we're at that point in the cycle where the UK is making a bit of an effort.
