Just about to start a side venture of a laid back covers trio and would welcome song suggestions

So far we are trying:

Tracy Chapman - Baby Can I Hold You

Chris Stapleton - Tenessee Whisky

Chris Isaak - Wicked Game

Johnny Cash - Hurt

Kim Carnes - Bette Davis Eyes

Amy McDonald - This is the Life

Foster the People - Pumped up Kicks

Singer might add a bit of percussion but there'll be no drums. We're looking for a Sunday afternoon vibe rather than a smash it up Saturday night.

Thanks in advance.

Take on me - A-Ha (acoustic version)

Times like these - Foo Fighters (acoustic version)

Fields of gold - Sting

Many rivers to cross - Jimmy Cliff

Stand by me - Ben E. King

You didn't say if your singer is male or female, or if your guitarist is rhythm or lead or both. These are maybe less well known and probably work best for female leads.

Sunday Kind of Love -  Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa

The Dark End of the Street - The Commitments

If I could change your mind - Alan Parsons Project.

How can we see that far? - Amy Grant

Sounds like a fun project - let us know how it goes 👍

Thanks for these. The singer is female and was in my main band for 11 years. Her voice is less suited to female sung numbers but we just down tubed where we had to. Guitar player is the drummer in said band but he’s decent on guitar and proficient on banjo !

I have been playing in an acoustic duo for a couple of years .... here's a few songs we have done, they seem well received. ALL are played in a relaxed laid back style.... you'd be surprised how much people like laid back Hendrix!20220521_110759.thumb.jpg.7e66eae58f56940d4cd59ca47b96a9d4.jpg20220521_110808.thumb.jpg.a2733f9f7743d69ae97275fa35ba64b3.jpg20220204_144335.thumb.jpg.ff0cb6188ab0ea140d1efa6ee2a576fd.jpg

@Raymondo How do you join Hurt and Sympathy for the Devil together?

We don't ... they are encores... but a mash up would indeed be interesting!🤔

I did a guitar, female vocal, bass trio last week. Lots of original songs but we finished with No Woman No Cry. Always goes down a treat and everyone was singing along by the end.
