mikegatward Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Just about to start a side venture of a laid back covers trio and would welcome song suggestions So far we are trying: Tracy Chapman - Baby Can I Hold You Chris Stapleton - Tenessee Whisky Chris Isaak - Wicked Game Johnny Cash - Hurt Kim Carnes - Bette Davis Eyes Amy McDonald - This is the Life Foster the People - Pumped up Kicks Singer might add a bit of percussion but there'll be no drums. We're looking for a Sunday afternoon vibe rather than a smash it up Saturday night. Thanks in advance. Quote

Richard R Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) You didn't say if your singer is male or female, or if your guitarist is rhythm or lead or both. These are maybe less well known and probably work best for female leads. Sunday Kind of Love - Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa https://open.spotify.com/track/2LmpNjLwUIX4K363oieM4g?si=qP8dxaXdRQWsUVgLzcSXmQ The Dark End of the Street - The Commitments https://open.spotify.com/track/58oLE3Zv1JRzkMfsQtHlB1?si=1e5L_ELQReOLYi_s7aUYJg If I could change your mind - Alan Parsons Project. https://open.spotify.com/track/7F6dxGNtwSF2eBmatdbscF?si=Y9qqVnfpR2OAZEzkIlOe4g How can we see that far? - Amy Grant https://open.spotify.com/track/2G7AMHng2SeZB4EU6vpE5m?si=NZSDrvfXT0GZzItJVzhrIQ Sounds like a fun project - let us know how it goes 👍 Edited 1 hour ago by Richard R Typo Quote
mikegatward Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Thanks for these. The singer is female and was in my main band for 11 years. Her voice is less suited to female sung numbers but we just down tubed where we had to. Guitar player is the drummer in said band but he’s decent on guitar and proficient on banjo ! 1 Quote
