I asked Steve tonight why his new signature bass was black. He explained it was actually white when he got it and immediately had it sprayed Matt Black. I’m guessing it never had the BA bridge on to start with but I’ll ask him if I get the opportunity. He’s got one with him on the tour but it’s unlikely he’ll use it as it’s strung with rounds but I might get the chance to have a go! Ask him why this one has the crappy Fender logo but his original one had the full 70's TV logo... Quote

That’s more than cool that you got to ask the man himself. Hope the shows are going well for you. Quote

Steve is a big fan of our band, they even used one of our songs as a B side. He’s a very down to earth bloke whovabsolutely lives for his music. Nice guy! 8 Quote
Musicman20 Posted Thursday at 14:26 Posted Thursday at 14:26 HOW MUCH?! What on earth is going on.....?! A basic MIM P Bass? Quote
Cato Posted Thursday at 14:50 Posted Thursday at 14:50 I know Steve's had a few resprays over the years, maybe his No 1 will be black by the time the next leg of the Maiden tour kicks off? Personally I always think of him with the blue/gold version but I guess that reflects the era I got into Maiden, for older fans it will be the checkerboard finish and for the newer ones the West Ham edition. Andertons have the Dave Murray Custom Shop 50th anniversary sig for around £10k, makes the MiM look like a snip.. I did wonder if there might be an eqivalent Steve Harris model, but no sign of it yet. Quote

A mate of mine sent me a message about the Dave Murray before we knew the price. We're both fans. I saw them on the Powerslave tour and quite a few more since. King Tut Posted Thursday at 18:33 Posted Thursday at 18:33 Tempted to start a rumour that he’s gone on to Ric’s but don’t wanna get chucked off the tour. That’s mine making itself comfortable. 6 Quote

Pauld Posted yesterday at 08:39 Posted yesterday at 08:39 (edited) There are standard Dave Murray strats, Janick Gers strats (who was playing a Sandberg) and there's an Adrian Smith Jackson. There is a picture of them all on Adrian Smiths Instagram. I've tried to upload a screenshot but keep getting an error code. Edited yesterday at 08:40 by Pauld Quote

Schnozzalee Posted yesterday at 18:24 Posted yesterday at 18:24 Great stuff - Saw British Lion in Carlisle, so a bit of a shame they didnt come back for a 3rd tour 😔. I really enjoyed it. The new signature p sucks big time. 1 Quote

Misdee Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) Allegedly this bass is supposed to be inspired by Steve's main bass pre-modification, like he was playing 50 years ago. I suppose I can see their reasoning, but as others have pointed out, at least put the proper decal on ect. The have retained the maple body, but that also makes the bass very heavy, which will put a lot of folks off. It's a lot of money for a pretty unremarkable Mexican P Bass that weighs a ton. I'm pretty sceptical about "special" boutique P Basses on the whole - they usually end up sounding like a P Bass, surprisingly enough- but this one doesn't even seem to be trying to be special except that it says Steve Harris on it. He is a special bass player though, no doubt about that. Edited 11 hours ago by Misdee Quote
King Tut Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I had a chat with the man today. I forgot to ask him about the decal but the bbot bridge reflects how it was originally. I had a quick noodle on it. It definitely wasn’t a lightweight but it felt incredibly resonant I have to say. 1 Quote
police squad Posted 56 minutes ago Posted 56 minutes ago I had a WHUFC one. It had its own sound maple body. Massive difference in sound to alder or ash I prefer alder to ash. It's worth a listen.........................but too heavy for me now Quote
