I was really hoping Cort would do a GB SS. So much so that I messaged them on Instagram shortly after getting my Fusion 5.

But, I’ve got to say, the colours of these really don’t do it for me. I could potentially get on board with the green one if it didn’t have a black headstock. Petty, I know. But the colours just look like ANOTHER cheap entry short scale aimed at children.

Don’t they already have the Action Jnr or whatever it’s called as their entry level shortie?

Appreciate these will likely be relatively cheap but I’m not sure why they didn’t go all out on something more in keeping with the GB range (nice wood finishes and decent hardware etc.) Rather than another budget short scale.

To be fair - I think this is a feeler for Cort (although they can surely see the SS market is pretty well established now...)

The Action Jr is very basic, this has a few nicer aspects (roasted maple neck, Mark Bass preamp) so it probably will be around £250 rather than my previous comment of £160. If it goes well, I reckon you'll see a Fusion SS in the future.

I appreciate that they've rescaled the headstock to a smaller body size - or at least, cleverly used black to help 'shrink' it optically.

Also, the pink and yellow colours are fab. Maybe a bit too bold for my tastes, but at least they're taking some risks with statement colours, rather than black or wood.

The neck looks just like the one on the G4M Hartwood shortscale, headstock and all. There must be a factory in China churning out these roasted maple necks with wheel truss rod adjustment.

Yeah, Ashdowns SS is similar too, except it’s a slightly different truss rod adjuster I think

I’d like one, if I were still playing 4 strings. Totally 5 now. Green would be my choice as the others are just a bit 1987 Ibanez

That’s such an enlightening video. Fascinating that they have entire buildings for the different production lines.

Yeah, it's great - Scan the QR code every time you want to take a piss and then have a meeting with your Line Manager to discuss any prostate problems👌

Where did that come from? Cort not looking after their employees?

No lefties, bummer! In fact, I couldn't find ANY lefty on their website. They used to be such a lefty-friendly company, with a wide range of instruments available in left-handed versions. It used to vary widely per market, the Dutch distributor had few interesting lefty models in their range but France got a huge range including the neck-through Artisan models that have always tempted me. I've owned an Artisan B4, an NTL-B FL (the most high-end acoustic series Cort had around 2000, very unusual and rare lefty) and still have a lovely, lovely MGM-1 Matt "Guitar" Murphy signature that's also quite rare.
