It puts them and others off, and makes this forum less useful. Im not sure if thats correct tbh. Asking for other peoples input and opinions is always going to be tricky if you won't give all the info ( builders name ) and then get offended at the end. Ive only ever found that 99% of the people on here are genuine and are willing to help anyone sort out a situation. Theres the odd one of course... Hopefully he gets the bass he wants and originally ordered. Edited 6 hours ago by walshy 4 3 Quote
miles'tone Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Yeah @hiram.k.hackenbacker the bridge and pickups are in line with each other but not the body or the neck. I fear this might be the work of a of a once good luthier whose eyesight is now failing him. I say this with all sincerity btw. 2 Quote

N64Lover Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago That photo was taken at quite a weird angle. Here's another. 1 1 Quote

I appreciate the input though. 2 Quote
Beedster Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago A photo taken directly in line would be helpful 👍 Quote

Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be that person, but to me, this photo is obviously taken at quite an angle, yet the E and G strings appear to be similar distance from the edge of the fretboard. That can't be right. What would be great is a flat straight shot from bridge to headstock. I'm guessing it might have left you already tho? Quote
hiram.k.hackenbacker Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago It's quite a deceiving photo that one. Even the strings appear to be passing the pick-up's in the right place. I would love to see a photo at the same angle from the other side of the bass. Not so great from that side I bet. Quote
N64Lover Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago The bass is gone now, this is the only other photo I have taken from his bench. The bridge doesn't have adjustable string spacing. Quote

Must have happened in the packing/shipping/storage stage. Quote
Obrienp Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago This is probably not adding any value to the conversation but here goes. Isn’t the body shape essentially the same as a Jaguar bass? The difference is in the electronics, so apart from that aspect, I struggle to see how this could be described as a prototype. Sorry, I know that didn’t add any value but it did seem like a poor excuse for shoddy work. I’m glad the luthier is sorting it. Hold his/her/their feet to the fire. I still think you should be given a part refund/discount for the inconvenience. I hope it works out for you. 1 Quote

Yes it is exactly the same, the only difference is the control layout so you're right. 1 Quote
Mastodon2 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Dodgy luthiers stay in business through customers like this. They send out shonky rubbish knowing that some customers are marks who won't ask for refunds and will keep the identity of the builder a secret so others can fall into the same trap. 3 2 Quote

Burns-bass Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The relationship of the strings to the poles on the pickups is utterly irrelevant to the sound. 1 Quote
