1. How do you like the Midi Baby 3? I am thinking of getting one.
2. Decent and very musical so far although I haven't gigged with it yet. I had the TLC compressor before but it was never happy with my active bass and would distort sometimes, not the case with this one thankfully.
3. My current board. I am fairly happy with it, although I might have to get into the whole midi thing in order to use 2 switches and an expression pedal with the HX Stomp to get the most out of it. The metal box bottom right is a kit built Big Muff.
4. Unhelpful comment incoming: If this had black hardware and I had £6000 more i'd be all over this! Good luck with the sale!
5. Well the dancing/fashion choices in the Rocco Palladino & Tom Misch video on that thread isn't up to much compared to this.
6. Hey, thanks a lot! I had another dancer lined up but I had to step in at the last minute...
7. Hey guys, I thought i'd share my new video with you all here. It's a mash-up of Dean Town and Teen Town (I think we've all heard of those tracks!), it's been done before but this time it's a bit different. I am using my Mayones Jabba 5 string that I bought used on here, I cannot remember who I got it from though... Hope you enjoy and that the video doesn't give you a 90s flashback migraine.
8. I have a set of 5 Schaller BML chrome tuning keys for sale. 17.5mm. In good but used condition. These came off a Mayones Jabba bass which has the 4 bass and one treble side (reversed) configuration. I'd like to sell them in one go if possible. £5 postage to the UK or collected in North London. I can also meet you somewhere in London if it's not too far.
9. Nice I'll check that out, thank you very much.
10. Hi everyone. I am wondering if there are any London-based pro players here on the forum? I have just moved down from Edinburgh where I played full-time and I am looking for paid work and to meet some new folks, it's a big city and it is hard to know where to start!
11. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
12. My John East J-Retro has always sounded very weak when I switch it to passive, a very low output and very thin tone especially in the higher registers. It has never been a problem because I always use it active but last night the battery finally packed in on a gig, I flicked the switch and suddenly I was playing a ukulele. I use Aguilar hum cancelling pickups right now, but I had the same issue with my previous Bartolinis. Surely the passive switch should just bypass the preamp and the pickups should sound as normal, but I am quite sure that the wiring is sucking out all the tone. Has anyone else had this issue?
13. I just received a 5 string Mayone's Jabba from JK and I couldn't be happier with it. It was packed up very well in a hard case and arrived promptly. An easy transaction.
14. If you are selling a bass worth £5800 on the internet then you best be prepared to take a photo of every molecule, and in focus.
15.
Hello, as you're nearby why not have a try; or at least a look see? Only reason it's going is I've finally decided age wins votes for light hardware... Big birthday coming up and it's not 40... or 50... I'm on holiday this week so if your local (I'm in Fairmilehead) I'm happy to pop round with it if you fancy a go with your own gear.
Thank you for the offer! I am off to Germany tomorrow for a few days but I might take you up on it when I return. I really don't need another amp head but it would be a 'that's a nice thing to own' purchase.
16. I am very tempted! I had 301 and 405 cabinets that I sold about 3 years ago as I couldn't find a 370 head to go with them. I am also in Edinburgh, I will have a think about it.
