binky_bass Posted yesterday at 17:54 Posted yesterday at 17:54 Any thoughts as to who some of these signatures belong to or what event this might have been signed at? Quote
Dan Dare Posted yesterday at 17:57 Posted yesterday at 17:57 (edited) Didn't J Squiggle once play in The Searchers? Edited yesterday at 17:57 by Dan Dare Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted yesterday at 18:17 Posted yesterday at 18:17 The only ones I can confirm are definitely genuine are Abraham Lincoln, Samuel Pepys, Glenn Miller, Jesus, and Paddington Bear 7 Quote
Doctor J Posted yesterday at 18:52 Posted yesterday at 18:52 I think I bought a lawnmower from Salt Raspberry, many years ago. Nice fella. 3 Quote

binky_bass Posted yesterday at 19:01 Author Posted yesterday at 19:01 (edited) Yeah, saw the BSC one. Think there's an Alice Cooper one too up by the Rhythm/Treble switch. Edited yesterday at 19:05 by binky_bass 2 Quote
dudewheresmybass Posted yesterday at 19:17 Posted yesterday at 19:17 Ian Paice by the tone controls Quote
Harps Posted yesterday at 19:25 Posted yesterday at 19:25 The Black Stone Cherry FB group is very friendly and at least one of the band members occasionally post there - could be worth asking in there if anyone knows what event its from Quote
binky_bass Posted yesterday at 19:40 Author Posted yesterday at 19:40 I don't have any social media (unless you count basschat) so I cant post there! Quote
Si600 Posted yesterday at 19:44 Posted yesterday at 19:44 Could be Mark Knopfler under the treble switch? Quote
Norris Posted yesterday at 20:22 Posted yesterday at 20:22 Looks like Meat Loaf under the pickup switch and Jeff Wayne above the bridge. I have no idea what their signatures look like though 1 Quote
steantval Posted yesterday at 21:09 Posted yesterday at 21:09 Some guy called Les Paul on the headstock. 2 Quote
binky_bass Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago Well I've just bought it. If the signatures are legitimate and done by the likes of Alice Cooper, Geezer Butler, BSC, Ian Paice, Kerry King etc. then it's a steal and I'll very much enjoy having it in the studio! If they're not legit, then I still think its a decent enough price for a Gibson Studio Les Paul with Gibson hard case. Roll dem dice! 2 Quote
binky_bass Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago Just seen Duff McKagan's signature on it too... About an inch under the bridge, it looks upside-down in the picture and has an '07' next to it. Looking at examples, Duff does sign with the year too, so this would be likely from 2007. Quote
BlueMoon Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Some look just like the squiggle used by the lowlife FedEx driver to indicate my package had been delivered and signed for………but he’d nicked it. Quote
Crusoe Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Maybe Steve Harris, just above the bottom straplock, but I don't really think so. Quote

Not Steve Harris I'm afraid, I've seen his signature before and its much more streamline. On closer inspection, it looks very much like Steven Tyler from Aerosmith... The white one is a verified exemplar. I should have it in hand tomorrow for a much better inspection. Edited 5 hours ago by binky_bass Quote
Harps Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Wild guess - could be from download 2011? Duff played, Alice Cooper played and black stone cherry played. No aerosmith though or Geezer Quote
binky_bass Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Duff's signature is from 2007 so it can't be from 2011. I'm almost certain the vast majority of signatures are from after 28th September 2007 but not too far from that date as thats the date of build of the guitar according to the serial number. So far I'm pretty sure this guitar has the following signatures on it: Alice Cooper Geezer Butler Duff McKagan Francis Rossi Rick Parfitt Steven Tyler Kerry King Meat Loaf Black Stone Cherry Mick Ralph Ian Hunter Jeff Wayne After some AI assisted Internet searching, it does very much appear to be legitimate... The signature placements match to these evidential pictures: Edited 3 hours ago by binky_bass Quote
