  1. Paul Rodgers.
  2. Caught a bit of the Scissor Sisters set last night, CMAT should take note, this is how to put on a polished professional performance.
  3. Just got in from a gig and turned on the TV for Glastonbury and greeted with an act called ANOHNi and The Johnson’s, WTF was I watching and listening to, I just don’t get it, music just sometimes goes in some strange directions.
  4. Vernon was born in the U.K., he deliberately used the U.K. spelling when setting up Living Colour.
  5. Yes I have it, obviously worse when you are in really quiet surroundings, like now while I’m typing out this response, just a really annoying high pitched whine, had it for many years, plus my hearing is definitely getting worse, struggle to hear high frequencies i.e. the timer on the oven from a distance, I put it down to riding motorcycles and playing in bands for over forty years.
  6. Awesome band, they were really unique as an all black band playing hard rock and playing it to an exceptionally high level, love these guys. Used to play Love Rears It’s Ugly Head in a rock band many years ago, I’m not sure I could still physically play it now in older age.
  7. I really enjoyed the set, a fantastic back catalogue of Police and solo Sting material to choose from, three damn good musicians, dressed in just jeans and tee shirts (no fancy stage clothing), no backdrop, just their back line and stage lighting.
  8. There will always be conflicts of interest and if your intention is to gig regularly, even as much as a gig every other week, chances are it won’t happen. Its bad enough keeping a diary for one band and it’s members, attempting to work around another couple of diaries is a nightmare.
  9. Sting at the Isle of Wight Festival on now.
  10. On now Live at Montreux, from 1997 Jazz Festival, Eric Clapton, Marcus Miller Bass, Steve Gadd Drums, David Sanborn Sax and Joe Sample Keys, really high end musicianship 👍👍👍
  11. fretmeister AKA Monsterslippers.
  12. Just learnt the FM version of Heard It Through The Grapevine, our band played it live for the first time Saturday night.
  13. I would pay £90 for them if they made me play like him.
  14. Support act, Rick Backer.
  15. Thanks for this, I did find this yesterday, unfortunately none in stock, it states “coming soon”, I have emailed them today to see how long they will be coming into stock.
  16. Can anyone give me any advice on where to purchase a replacement jack socket, the enclosed black box type, that is soldered to the circuit board, they seem almost impossible to get hold of. My bass is a 1994, 2 EQ Stingray. I would be most grateful for any guidance.
  17. Would that be finished off with a high build two pack lacquer?
  18. Thought I would have a crack at I Wish by Stevie Wonder, finding it tough, so repetitive, drop a note and you are totally out of sync, struggling to play it at the tempo with full accuracy, I think I’m at 90% of the tempo after spending thirty minutes on it. Phew.
  19. I actually thought this was a Bob Dylan tribute act.
  20. Looking through the list of acts appearing, there is not one that would entice me to travel all the way to the South West to see them play, a few on there I would have paid to see possibly ten years ago, but now they are well past their best and just going through the motions.
  21. A massive turnout for Nicks funeral yesterday, Peterborough Cathedral was full, it showed how respected Nick was, a great fun loving guy sadly missed.
  22. First track release off new solo Don Airey album.
  23. We do the Def Leppard one, I prefer an easier life.
  24. Hysteria, Muse or Def Leppard ?
  25. One of my all time favourite bands, saw them live at the first Knebworth Festival in 1974, I’m very envious of you playing wonderful songs from a vast music catalogue. 👍
