cetera Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Finally entering the 21st Century for depping and will be using a new Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ Tablet and a setlist/music app..... but I need to get a decent quality, reliable page turning pedal. Seems there's lots of choices out there. Who's using what and would recommend? Cheers! Quote
itu Posted May 2 Posted May 2 To consider: - low noise switches? - how many switches you - really - need? - battery saving mode if you forget it ON? Mine is a Pageflip Dragonfly. It has four quiet switches (would work in a studio, or with a symphony band), super long battery lifetime, and extra weight. The unit has lights, too, but the form of the unit is so distinctive you cannot miss. Low noise means no tactile feedback, but I do can see, when the page is turning. Now I would choose the simpler one with two switches only: Butterfly or Firefly. The two extra switches are not needed, but on the way. They are also slimmer units. There was extra metal inside that I removed. The pedal can move on a slippery floor, but because I carry everything in my mono case, lighter, and slimmer is better. 1 2 Quote
stewblack Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Lekato. Mine has gone on and on. Metal case, small, rechargeable, reliable. I bought a second one as a back up and have never needed it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403165593572?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=aRG_XW7pQYW&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=hpH4mU1xR2S&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY 1 Quote
hiram.k.hackenbacker Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I was going to jump straight in here and say that I’ve only ever had one, because it’s the only one I’ve ever had, it’s bombproof, ultra reliable and still going strong 6 years after I bought it from Thomann. However, it appears the ‘Airturn BT200S-2’ is no longer available. I’ll have a look and see if I can find one somewhere. 1 Quote

tauzero Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I built one with an ESP32 and a couple of footswitches - made it 9V powered as it was intended for use with effects as well. The Lekato looks an excellent buy, costs about the same as the overall cost of components and die-cast box for my DIY job - although mine will do line up and down, page up and down, and switch between apps. fleabag Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) I have the M VAVE Cube turner and it looks pretty identical to the Lekato, but its not posted from China, though a few quid dearer. Had it working for a couple of years without any faults. https://www.amazon.co.uk/M-Vave-Cube-Turner-Wireless-Compatible/dp/B09V2YWSF8 Edited May 3 by fleabag 1 Quote
TrevorR Posted May 5 Posted May 5 (edited) I’ve used this one - AirTurn BT200 - for years… https://www.gear4music.com/Woodwind-Brass-Strings/Airturn-2-Footswitch-Controller/4TIM?origin=product-ads&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD_kjLQyRn_48VhlWsbHiz6Yp6vKc&gclid=Cj0KCQjww-HABhCGARIsALLO6Xz3aZcuZU21HsgPgx24XnfWMog9wZ6Q_ic4oNOhdKED6KVtP_dSUxEaAlVjEALw_wcB Edited May 5 by TrevorR 1 1 Quote
BigRedX Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I have an AirTurn pedal. It's fine if you use it with one of the recommended apps. However should you want the pedals do anything else other than step backwards and forwards through the pages on one of the supported apps, the interface is less than intuitive. Also on mine the actual foot switches are no longer as reliable as they should be in that I am now getting phantom double-presses. Quote
tauzero Posted Thursday at 15:01 Posted Thursday at 15:01 I just bought an M-Vave page turner. Using it with Adobe reader for PDF cribsheets, I was initially struggling but I needed to switch the reader settings to View | Single page and then put the turner into Android landscape mode. What apps are others with the Lekato and M-Vave page turners ( @fleabag, @stewblack, anyone else?) using them with? Quote

itu Posted Friday at 18:07 Posted Friday at 18:07 Mobile Sheets Pro. Works well. Love the setlist archive. A new set is built in a minute from an old one. Quote

Cliff Edge Posted yesterday at 17:32 Posted yesterday at 17:32 I’ve been using an iRig Blue Turn for several years https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigblueturn/. Bluetooth and totally silent in operation. I use an iPad with OnSong but the pedal works with Android stuff too. Quote
Woodinblack Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I have the MVave/Lekato cube turner and it is good, but I tend to use the MVave Chocolate now, battery good, but 4 buttons, so page up / down, song back / next using onsong Quote

Aalin Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I found this news today at Thomann. No idea if it's good or not, but cheap. https://www.thomann.fr/thomann_pageturn_pedal.htm Quote
