Nice one. And yes your homage looks great 1 Quote
Skybone Posted May 24 Posted May 24 (edited) Tech21 Bass Fly Rig v2, purchased from Carlsim: Can't believe how small it is, but it sounds great. Edited May 24 by Skybone 1 Quote
AinsleyWalker Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Made a new thread before I saw this one so, I'll share here too - this lil guy arrived today. Nice valve drive from NL, will be using it more to just warm up a signal when going direct. 5 Quote

I’ve been sans compression on my board for a while since convincing myself I didn’t need it and selling my Spectracomp, but I recently came to the confusion this was a mistake. As much as I loved the Soectracomp, the requirement to engage with software to tweak the parameters made me shy away from a like-for-like replacement, and both the Empress and the Cali 76 were identified as possible candidates. After a late night YouTube session I settled on the Empress. Looking forward to getting to know this over the weekend and then all being well, gig it next weekend. So I’ve had time to have a good play around with the various features of this pedal and colour me impressed. The tone control with the added harmonic distortion could become addictive. I’ve only tried it through headphones thus far, and I’ll have to see how that mod-scoop sounds live, but suffice to say she’s making her way onto my pedal board in time for next weekends gigs 😎 Quote
Japhet Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Wanted something with a DI. Looked at much dearer stuff but not really gigging much so couldn't justify it. This is the same as the Caline pedal which sounds good on Youtube so I pulled the trigger on Temu for a tad over £30. Might be alright, might be crap but what the hell. 1 Quote

Basically the pedal has a 6AS6 tube in it, running at 230V plate voltage but derived from a standard 9V power supply with a boost converter. The tube can be switched from triode to pentode operation and has a pretty neat sound ! Basstheworld did a cool short demo with it : 6 Quote

tayste_2000 Posted Tuesday at 15:02 Posted Tuesday at 15:02 Just checking you all know this is a Sansamp clone right? Not that that matters, just think it’s useful information if you’re ever shopping around for something similar. 2 Quote

Loved the way it tightened up my sound, but found that the harmonic distortion didn’t sound great through the PA so switched it off for the gig. Could just be my eq in the PA but, thanks to a delay at the Tyne Tunnel, I didn’t have time to iron this out. Further experimentation required, but overall very happy with this very musical compressor. Quote
Rich Posted Wednesday at 09:06 Posted Wednesday at 09:06 This is the latest addition, it's a high/low pass filter which I'm using as a 'thumpinator' because my new amp doesn't have one built in unlike the previous one. It's a clone of a Broughton Low+High that I bought as a rough nearly-finished project and rehoused in a nicer/smaller enclosure. It's an always-on, so to be honest I needn't have bothered with the footswitch, but it was already built so I kept it. Annoyingly the drill slipped when I was drilling the low pass hole so it doesn't quite line up. When it gets so I can't look at it without cringing, I'll rehouse it again with no switch. 1 Quote
Rich Posted Wednesday at 09:07 Posted Wednesday at 09:07 Also, a +1 from me for the Wine Cellar pedal. I love it. Quote
