roger Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Iāve had short scale basses before but I wanted to try a medium scale so I picked up this early Ibanez roadstar in a hideous torquise blue, stripped it best I could, finished with Tru Oil and added some gold hipshot ultralights to match the brass bridge. Itās really comfortable to play, the 32ā scale is better then expected beautifully balanced & light, lovely compromise between 30ā/34ā. Ā Just need to tidy up the wiring.Ā Ā 25 Quote

ezbass Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 I like a trans teal finish, but itās nicer now and those Hipshots have sorted out that nasty string break angle. Quote

LeftyJ Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) As a vintage Ibanez fan it pains me a bit to see one irreversibly modded (and a fairly rare one at that) and even removing the logo and serial,Ā but I have to admit the result is stunning! That's a beautiful piece of ash and the grain comes out a lot nicer after the refin.Ā Ā By the way, not a Roadstar but a Roadster RS721.Ā Edited January 1, 2023 by LeftyJ Quote
cocco Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 Looks lovely, it has a kind of SD Curlee vibe now.Ā 1 Quote

Is on the neck plate and Iām gunna reproduce the logo in gold (Iām in the print business) but thanks for your kind comments, think Iām well & truly into medium scale now.Ā Edited January 1, 2023 by roger 1 Quote
