Collaboration dreams

If you could have the chance to work with another musician or composer of your choice from any era/age/genre/instrument who would it be and why? 

Mine would be Steve Wilson who’s written and played on so many tracks, in multiple bands and as a solo artist. 
Probably best known for the band Porcupine tree though. 

His style of writing and use of lyrics has always fascinated me.

If I had to choose just one, then probably Ludwig van Beethoven.

I’ll go for John French, aka Drumbo of Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band.

Fantastic drummer and seems like he can play most other instruments too. And sing.

Not sure we what I’d bring to the party though!

Doing some stuff with Andy Gill ( gang of four) would've been good, because he was a properly innovative guitarist

I’d love to have worked with Kate Bush, Sandy Denny and Stevie Nicks. And Seal, particularly on his first album. The Staves, because of those immense harmonies. Martin Simpson. Zero 7. 
 

I’d also have loved to have done a gig with Hawkwind, Lemmy-era. 
 

Oh, and to play on an ABBA track…….oh yes. 😁

I can’t really think of anyone, but I would have liked to have worked with a band who were on the same wavelength re production/mixing. Who knows the opportunity may still be out there.

I’d love to take Robbie Shakespeare’s place and play some bass with Sly Dunbar, he’s one of the best reggae drummers I’ve ever seen

Well the possibility to play in the live Abba avatar band is still there. Except the bass player has already been chosen….. but, you know, accidents can happen😉!
