ianrendall
Hi all My recently acquired AH600 is currently running through a BF Midget and it does sound epic. However, for reasons of rose tinted romanticism, I would love to pair it with an original, non-Peavey, non-Gibson cab. What was the smallest physical size cab that TE made, aside from the bright box obvs. I assume they didn’t make a 1x12, and that a 1x15 or the 4x8 would be the only choice? I’ll suck up the weight... TheGreek
I have an original 1x10 - they were available as ex cabs for the BLX range. Proper TE whoomf...they are quite difficult to come by though.

BreadBin
Did I see that you were selling that @BassBod?
BassBod
Yes, I was selling it (on behalf of the estate of a friend) but decided to keep it. Works nicely with the old AH150. Sounds great, but it’s very heavy for it’s small size.
Happy Jack
Why does this not surprise me?
prowla
Well, the smallest cab is the 4x5 Brightbox unit. 🙂 On a more practical front, I've got a 2x10, which is pretty standard; it is heavy, though!
Delberthot
The 1153 & 2103 are the most common of the smaller cabs - occasionally you may find a 2103X which also has 2x5" drivers in it as well. I'd completely forgotten about those 1x10" BLX cabs
prowla
I've got a BLX whose amp is a bit shonky, so I use it as a cab with a shelf in it.
paul_5
An 1153 would be my recommendation; great little(ish) cab!

Thornybank
small 1x15 the 4x8 is a bril cab from the V series together, it is a great stack but...I'm up north...
tony_m
Another BLX-110 in captivity (and going nowhere, sorry!).

TheGreek
I'm using a 1x10 cab with my Elf...good combination though not a combo. I have a brightbox 4x5 too though I think it more suited to combining with the bigger cabs - the boom from a 1x15 or 2x10 with the subtle highs from the BB - as prescribed by TE. IIRC Skezza had a BLX combo and a 1x10 for sale earlier this year - not sure whether they sold though.
MartinB
There's a Trace 1x10 up on Gumtree at the moment - can't tell what model it is, but it's a bargain price! https://www.gumtree.com/p/other-guitar-accessories/trace-elliot-bass-speaker-/1304450888

fleabag
Throw caution to the wind ( and your spine - you don't need it ) and buy my 15" TE 200 watt 8 ohm wedge. It weighs a bit less than the 15 tons of the 8 x10 too, and you can angle it at your head. What's not to like ? fleabag
I'm not holding my breath , which is a tad lighter than the cab
ianrendall
I think I might have to persuade the same mate I bought the AH600 from to sell me his cab!
TheGreek
I have two pairs of Trace Elliot acoustic pa cabs - like these: Not sure if they're giggable but they're fine for home use and rehearsals. Very light (certainly less than 10lbs), yet powerful, you'd be surprised how versatile they are. Not sure about the actual numbers - I may need to look at the spec.
