  1. Great - I’d like to buy it. Bank transfer and post to Bristol ok? cheers Duncan
  2. Oh, the temptation 😅😂. Perfect for those Christmas shows 🎅🏻👀
  3. Thanks…I’m not far away 😎. This would be so inappropriate for a lot of my gigs…makes it even more tempting 😂🤷🏻‍♂️
  4. ..and a lovely amp it is too. My first SWR from the Fender years…but they didn’t change a lot. 😎
  5. The lack of high pass on SWR’s is something to be aware of. My Redhead will make the speakers jump around at fairly low volume, especially with a lot of low end eq boost. The Stereo 800 in bridge mode would easily do the same with a Goliath 4x10. Just don’t overdo the low end, keep the volume sensible. Great amps. I really wish I’d remembered this one when I accidentally drove past Newbury yesterday 😳
  6. Yes, most likely…but not always. If any chipped areas (on the back?) don’t show stain, then it’s probably in the finish, between clear coats. I’m obviously thinking about a less coloured re-finish 😜🤔 Seriously tempted….and in Bristol 😎
  7. Any idea if the wood is stained, or if the colour is in the finish?
  8. So sad to hear this news…lovely chap. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
  9. I still have one - it’s a great amp 😎. The secret to lumping it about is two people…that was really how it was intended. The wheels help a lot, but for lifting, the size makes it hard work. For two people, it’s no hassle
  10. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
  11. Good point...will have a go!

  14. SWR's were fitted with transformers that had taps for various international voltages, so they could be safely wired for UK voltage. However they stopped doing it around the late 90's as I recall, possibly a bit earlier. The stuff with "SWR Engineering" written on the back was multi-tap, but later amps with "SWR Sound Corporation" probably aren't. This is from memory, so dates are approx. The company got sold to its accountant...say no more...
  15. Alex bought a bass today - easy communication and absolutely no hassle…as we expect on BC. Highly recommended 😎
  16. No idea, they were on it already, and may even be the original Fender strings. The bass hasn’t had much use at all. The general feel of the strings and grey silk remind me of a set of Galli’s.
  17. On my basic luggage scales it weighs in at 9lbs straight. Not the most accurate, but it certainly feels about right. The broader neck and headstock give it a bigger feel than a regular 4 string..but it’s very manageable.
