Another shuffle, happiest i have been for a while, I think i will be replacing the Mesa with my incoming replacement B3K. I cannot envisage any further changes, but when it comes to recording some demos i may well find a sound is missing. But for now, satisfied :)

Cabled mine up to a Trex board the other day.

Pretty chuffed - just need to adjust a few cables :)

Great board, although not heard great sounds from those Mooer octaves, how do you find it?
Is that a Stache? Get it in the Fuzzrocious porn thread in 'Effects' ;)

First change for a while, and it's about to change again. The Stache is great but there's a band on the horizon which the Rat sound is going to be better for, so I couldn't resist the opportunity to trade it for a Rat Tail. That's gonna make the Turbo Rat redundant, so if anyone fancies it drop me a PM, then next order of business is a Mastotron, so if anyone's got one they want to get shot of let me know too.

And to show how ridiculously bright the Stache LED is:

It can illuminate my room entirely on it's own.

It is mentally bright, isn't it? I felt myself covering it with a finger or my foot when playing with settings! So did you trade for the rat tail with the guy that just missed out to you when i was selling it?

In all honesty, I thought It'd make a good octave with the distortion/fuzz.

But it's just there for some mental noises - it makes the b7k and syb go mental and glitch to hell. Still tempted to get rid of it and get something else there.

It is indeed a stache! Demented fuzz! Got it blended with the distortion of the b7k, so get the nice click type sound with a wall of fuzz!

Sweet, check out the Earthquaker Devices Organizer for some cool Octave up/down sounds, you can lag the effect too, which can sound pretty mental with distortion & fuzz.

new setup for me... finally bitten the bullet and got a bigger board!

really liking how these pedals all work together, but that space in the top left is begging to be filled!!! I have a Rat Tail on its way to me so that'll probably be on there in a couple of weeks :)

My latest;

Boss Tuner => MXR Octave Deluxe => MXR El Grande Fuzz => 3 Leaf Proton => MXR Bass Compressor => EHX Small Stone Nano => EHX Freeze => MXR Carbon Copy => Sansamp BDDI

Still playing around with the order of the Octave/Fuzz/Filter/Compressor - the compressor after those 3 helps tame the peaks of when I've got them all going, but it does build up a bit of noise...

But plenty of versatility here, covers everything i need for my band and various random gigs. Thinking there may be just enough room for an EBS Chorus at some point (which would give me a flanger as well), but don't need to spend anymore for a while...

Sorry to post twice on the same page, the Rat Tail is here:

It's spectacular, AB'ing it with the Turbo RAT was interesting, I was surprised at how similar the tone actually is, but obviously the RAT Tail's flexibility is just better. So many useable sounds and some not so useable but fun ones. Try low clipping completely off, high clipping completely full, dist fully up, filter fully off, no diodes with an OC-2 in front of it, lovely and filthy.

Not sure where Ryan gets these LED's.

Looks like you could do with some lightdims ... http://www.lightdims.com/ ... I only needed one ... couldn't adjust the settings on my EWS BMC without something like that, the LED blinded me.

Was having great fun with this little setup last night.

Envelope Filters have always been a problem for me, my preferred string for normal use (an old set of flats) doesn't have a broad enough frequency spectrum for a filter to bite on, and I've gone through a few filters trying to find one that will do the job.

Last night I discovered a pedal I've had for a few years appears to be perfect for the job: The SYB-3 (on program 10). Always used it on the synth settings before. It seems to have enough tweakabilty of the right sort to get something out of my strings. The only other thing that comes close that I've found is the Proton. Tried a meat wad and couldn't get on with it at all, couldn't find suitable settings on the Enigma Q-balls, the AW-3 is really not tweakable for Q at all, and the Bassballs (okay, not really an env filter) is either too subtle, with fuzz off, or with fuzz on, just delivers that unique bass-balls sound and nothing else.

I can't believe I've found the most tweakable EF in this multi-purpose, non-boutique, pedal.

Oh, and the AW-3 is a lot of fun with the expression pedal tweaked for 'Humaniser' sounds 'O' -> 'I' :)
