Cowboy Hat and That Fuzzbox Voodoo...

Long story short, I've been for a number of auditions over the last weeks and months - didn't bother to mention them on BC as there's not much entertainment to be got from a public list of 'failures', imho... but I went for an audition last night and got the call today. I really wanted this one too, so I'm pretty stoked about it to say the least! :)

I am now bass player for Cowboy Hat and That Fuzzbox Voodoo! Will be listing gigs in due course, y'all!
Now... where did I put my boots, shades and confederate flag bandana..?

And of course this is an excellent excuse to buy another bass more suited to the vibe of the whole thing...

It's ostensibly alt.country/blues rock/americana, but the songs are full of hooks and great fun to play.

I thank you! :)

Great work - but yes, a Spector isn't really going to look the part is it!!

Thanks! Er... no.

Hollow body electric bass?

A white Jack Casady appeals...

Well done! I think you need a white 1976 Precision ;)

Thanks Dave... I think so too. ;)

A black G&L SB2 would fit right in there B)
It certainly would sound-wise - but it might not cover up the old beer gut...

If I wear (genuine) cowboy boots and hat to your first gig, do I get in free?
Yes.

I reckon this gig needs a Peavey T40!
A white one with black pg and maple neck! USA-made, obviously...

Congrats! How about this?
Thank you! Short scale and sunburst not for me, but otherwise yes.

Edit: Having said that, whenever I think of any genre even slightly related to 'country', I think of an early 60s sunburst Precision Bass with Rosewood fingerboard and tort guard, so work that one out... :)

Squier Classic Vibe 50s P all the way.
Butterscotch, yes! That was my first thought. Mind you my Hayman's got the vibe, even though it's British...

Heh. I've only got the pics that are already in the thread...
...you could always cut them out of the internet with scissors and sneak them into the toilet later..?

... and that is why one should always keep a gnarly old Precision available. Loved the song - congrats!
Thinks: Aren't you going to need a gnarly old amp too!?
You're right, I shouldn't have sold my 51 Custom P...
Amp? Something like a Fender Bassman 100T with a Bassman 115 Neo Cab? With sparkly cloth and chrome logos, of course...
Or maybe a Fender TV amp..?
