HeadlessBassist Posted June 23 Posted June 23 I recently created a large playlist of Vulfpeck, Fearless Flyers and Cory Wong tracks. Liking the 'this American life' feel. Also, curiously liking Khruangbin for their light, easy listening (I'm obviously getting old!) ambient feel. 1 Quote
ClusterOne Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Metallica & San Francisco Orchestra: Bleeding Me & Outlaw Torn all over again, Jason's bass work on them two pieces is just, well, magnificent.. Quote

The fasting showman Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Luis Jardim RIP on bass, such an important record to me that blew me away as a kid back in late '85. 1 Quote

He also did the percussion. I worked with him quite a few times, a larger than life character. Would sit in the control room and listen to the track a few times while his roadie setup a table of all his percussion bits. A stereo mic setup. Then he would go out and perform this amazing tapestry of percussion. Great bloke. 1 Quote

Same here! I actually really like the whole album, which can be acquired taste, to say the least. The odd things that resonate as a younger person (I was early twenties when this came out); the album inner sleeve was like a plastic transparent affair, rather than the cardboard type that I was used to. It baffled me then, and it still baffles me to this day! It was through her albums that I became aware of Sly & Robbie - I was a little obsessed with their Language Barrier record, which was out in the same year (see also the first Big Audio Dynamite album, and Scritti Politti’s Cupid & Psych ‘85)… 1 Quote
