Those pearl inlays on a maple fingerboard with white binding and a stupidly low price are making it impossible to resist. What kind of mad sorcery does this to me? 4 Strings Posted October 28, 2013 Share Posted October 28, 2013 Buy it. Then, set a max number to own (say 3), sell back down to it and put the money aside for any other bargains you see. That way you keep the best ones, and can have a constant eye out for others and can even buy them without worry. Even if you sell the one you just bought, doesn't matter, there'll be no rush. I don't really want a collection of basses and , without really intending to, I have been able to trade up by buying nice basses I happen to see at good prices, and then selling on (because I realised I preferred a different one). They all have their own personality and oddly enough, when it comes to recording, the more expensive one isn;t always the best chocie. It really depends on the song and that;'s why I have a collection of basses. I use them all. This one just seems superfluous. But, the price is right. I've got a Squier Precision, with a J neck and additional pickup It's Indonesian built, and a better bass than either of the US Fenders I owned, it's more playable, and it sounds better and I'm not as precious about it at gigs, as I am with less expensive basses And yes, it's funny how the most expensive bass isn't always the best sounding, when recording if you like it, get it, and don't be afraid of letting a more expensive one go, just because this one is a Squier Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

(One of those irrational dislikes). All my basses look like the original design. RIcs look like Rics. Ibby's look like Ibby's. MM's look like MM's. The Hofner is a Hof. To me, copying another style looks like you're trying to BE that style. I do have an epiphone Les Paul Jr, but that's because it's essentially the same instrument for a quarter of the price.
