New Bass Rant

Just spent the past half an hour peeling the protective plastic film from the scratchplate of my new P bass.
I have managed to peel most of it off, but there is still some under the controls and jack socket which I cant get to without taking them off.
Why dont they take this off before assembling the guitar??

Women will tell you that tweezers were invented for eyebrows and such like; I think it's far more likely for this scenario.

I bought a second-hand Ibby a few months back - from the serial number, I think it was made in '06. It [i]still[/i] has the protective film on the cover for the control route!

Of course, that might have something to do with the Ibby QC sticker being on top of the film, but still...
