  1. Just had a smooth trade with Mr. Prime and had absolutely no issues. Comms were perfect and bass arrived in good time and was exactly how it was described.
  2. Hi there, don't suppose you have any interest in the 90s Squier I currently have for sale (with cash your way)?
  3. Love the colour. Are you considering trades for anything short scale? It'd be money your way but am looking to trade my 90s Squier MusicMaster
  4. I have the original model of this as my main bass and love the tone, but those are some hefty upgrades! Mine is the most playable Ibanez I've ever owned - good luck with the sale.
  5. Nice to see a custom shop that's actually been played! Good luck with the sale.
  6. All I'll say is that for a China-made Fender, it rocks. And the 'mudbucker' is lots of fun.
  7. My first custom bass, an Alpher Mako 5-string, had a string spacing at the bridge that was just over 15mm - it was the best playing bass I've ever held and my next one will absolutely be similar.
  8. Price Drop to £545! Hi all, I've had a rare opportunity to consolidate some cash and buy something I've wanted for ages, so I'm putting this up for sale (even though I just bought it!). Apparently, these were only made for a year during the late nineties but there is some good information here if you're interested. It's a great example with fairly minimal wear however there are some visible marks and nicks along the edge of the neck and the plastic on top of the pickup is curling away (which apparently is fairly common) but I don't mind it as it makes it easier to root my thumb to the pickup. Electronics all work fine and the truss rod turns without issue. Tuners are in great condition too. Price is £545 and am happy for buyer to arrange courier, or it can be picked up from Birmingham. If couriered, it will be very well packaged. Payment by Bank Transfer or cash only please. And now for the pics:
  9. Hi all, Recently purchased this but have had a rare opportunity to buy something I've wanted for sometime so it's going straight back up for sale (and it may have something to do with the fact that my collection is quickly approaching double digits...😅) Great condition as you can see from the pictures. Action is great but I will include some new Rotosounds as it could do with a new set of strings. No issues with tuners/truss rod/electronics etc. Full spec is below pictures. Collection from Birmingham or happy for buyer to arrange courier. Am also happy to include Hiscox hard case (great condition) for an extra £90 - the bass fits snugly in it and would guarantee shipping safety. Bank transfer or cash only please. Now for the pics: Throughout its history, Fender® has always made a special point of welcoming new players to the family by offering entry-level instruments of remarkable style and substance (such as the Duo-Sonic?, Mustang® and Musicmaster® models), with great sound, classic looks, solid performance and eminent affordability. The Modern Player series continues that great my-first-Fender tradition, with thoroughly modern features and several distinctively unconventional new takes on our most revered instruments-all with outstandingly attainable value. Features include an alder body, C-shaped maple neck, maple fretboard with 9.5? radius and 20 medium jumbo frets, dual Modern Player Wide Range humbucking Precision Bass® pickups, three-ply parchment (Sunburst model) or single-ply black (Butterscotch Blonde model) pickguard, three knurled ?chrome-dome? control knobs (neck volume, bridge volume, master tone), vintage-style bridge with four brass saddles, open-gear tuners and nickel/chrome hardware. Available in Two-color Sunburst and Butterscotch Blonde. Features/Specifications: Body & Bridge: Body: Alder Finish: Tobacco Sunburst Bridge: Vintage Style 4-Saddle Bridge with Brass Saddles Pickguard: Black Neck: Neck: C-shaped Maple Fretboard: Maple Frets: 20 Frets Pickups & Hardware: Neck Pickup: Modern Player Wide Range Precision Bass® Pickup Middle Pickup: Modern Player Wide Range Precision Bass® Pickup Controls: Neck Volume, Bridge Volume, Master Tone Tuners: Vintage-style Hardware: Nickel/Chrome
  10. Any recommendations for strings? I'm leaning towards trying nylons but I've never played them before.
  11. Hi all, I thought you'd enjoy some pics of two basses that arrived to me from a very loving home :). I originally had my eye on the Squier Musicmaster as I'd never owned a short scale before. Apparently only produced for one year in 1997 but please correct me if I'm wrong. All I can say is that I now completely understand why people adore short scale basses. Even without the beautiful thump from the single coil, it's just fantastic to play. It's in good condition considering it's age and it's even got a bit of birdseye in the neck! The second bass is a Fender Modern Player Telecaster. They're fairly new (as far as Fenders go) but it's really quite nice. The pickups really standout and they're super versatile. The mudbucker by itself is my favoruite though. I may be tempted to sell them at some point but for now, enjoy the pics!
  12. Amazon Link Purchased for working from home recently but only used a couple of times before I was able to go back into the office. I prefer these to USB headsets as I will carry them with me and it means that more than one person can 'join in' on the call. If not for a more-expensive Jabra one that I keep in my office at work, I'd be keeping this as the quality is as good. Currently £69 on Amazon - selling for £50 to any UK address.
  13. Amazon Link Opened to test and they work brilliantly - if not for my more expensive Sony headphones I'd keep them (and they're not far off, despite being 5 times cheaper) Currently £42 on Amazon - selling for £30 delivered to any UK address.
  14. Amazon Link Have been opened to test (and they work fine). I did stick them in my ears for a few seconds but they've been sanitised since. £35 (delivery included to any UK address)

  16. Final Price Drop before it's sold on ebay (auction for this ends tomorrow so act fast!)
  17. Now £210 For sale is my Squier VM Jazz 5-string bass. Purchased recently after loving a recently-sold Squier P-bass but this isn't getting used at all so it's got to go! Specs are below pics and the only real damage is some slight indents on the back edge of the headstock (which I've tried my best to photograph). Everything else works fine and it's a clean example of a fantastic bass. Pickup from Birmingham, UK or courier arranged at buyer's risk (but I will package it well). Payment by bank transfer or cash on collection. 18. It was £160 shipped. I perhaps could have waited for a cheaper one but it felt right... I always hesitate to put flats on active basses but this one's a bit of a spare at the moment so I might have to give it a go. I got round to taking some nice(r) pictures in the garden. I do love the colour and the gold hardware really 'sets it off' (in my humble opinion)
  19. The Squier's are great and a lot of people speak highly of the Vintage V4 so I think you'd be happy with either. There may be other alternatives but let us know your budget and what music you're likely to be playing/your inspirations and I'm sure other members will have some great ideas.
  20. That's the most ridiculous advert for a bass I've ever seen... 😅
  21. Thought I'd share some pictures of my recently-purchased Yamaha RBX765A! I've always had a thing for Yamaha so I had to take a punt when this one came up for sale at a good price. It's got an alder body with a lovely Ash top (I tried to capture some of the figuring in the photos) and a maple neck. The electronics are awesome and I love that the bridge pickup isn't tinny or weak - it stands up by itself easily. As a bonus, it's had Hipshot Ultralite tuners fitted and has recently been setup so it plays beautifully. Not too sure if I'll be holding onto it but for now, enjoy the pics!
  22. Lovely bass, seems stupidly cheap for a luthier-built neck thru!
  23. Bump and slight price drop.
