I only own 34" basses, but I love playing my mate's 32" Fender Stu Hamm Urge I (it's an awesome bass in many respects, but the shorter scale is great). I also had a go on another friend's 33" custom recently, was an absolute delight! So yes, I prefer something just under 34", but I'm content enough with 34" for the time being.

Not been to see them this time round, but sounds excellent. They are an awesome live band and extremely innovative, although I have to agree that the current album isn't doing them justice!

Very good transaction with Graeme - paid him on a weekend and a couple of days later an extremely well packaged and boxed bass arrived! Top chap and sent me extensive user guidance during our transaction. Bass was in very good condition and as described. Not had a chance to try it plugged-in just yet, but will post a follow-up feedback for him when I'm able to comment on the whole package.

it's a fairly catchy standard - at the risk of going slightly OT - does anyone else think the main guitar riff distortion is provided by a harmonic percolator?

isn't peeling labels off things something to do with frustration - or is that just beer bottles??!

I reckon the bass track is pretty good (it's probably pre-compressor) - a few little rough edges, but then again listen to Brian May's guitar parts in isolation; sounds much noisier and exposed than in the mix.

We do a cover of this in my band and that's pretty much the bassline I play. Couldn't vouch on whether or nor that's really JD playing it (it does sound a bit bedroom recorded - but then it was the 80s). However, the transitions and octave jumps sound like the style he writes/plays. Cheers! PS - The combined track bassline sounds a bit out of time! ;-)
