Mine is the fretless model of yours and must be similar age as it has the black finish p/up frame rather than polished - I'll update my porn thread soon rather than hijack yours! If you click on the link to my blog, on the original post, you will see a detail about the pick-ups. I also have covered the Stereo feature. The pick-up looks big at the neck, but is in fact, four small coils. The back pick-up is very sharp and in some circumstances could be described as a little harsh on it's own but blend the two and it's a different story. Some very useable tones. Cheers. The Guy out of Journey used one. you can hear it on the hit's "Who's Cryin" and Don't stop beliving. Mine has had a Warwick circuit fitted in place of the old Graphic style circuit. the Metalwork was stripped and polished. I'm not using it much just now so i may consider letting it go!!! I Could do with a decent Rig for my upright and I cant help lovin Musicman's!! Oldman Posted November 25, 2011 Share Posted November 25, 2011 Well gast my flabber, I part chopped a Magnum 2 (Graphic model) for my Warwick Thumb in 1990 (in Aberdeen) found out a couple of years later that only three came into the Country. Here's another killer, I swapped a Fender Precision and a Fender Telecaster for the Ovation (straight swap) in 1978...........Dont say a word............... Seems a damn shame to paint such a lovely slab of mahogany, but the solid colour really sets off the lines of the body, and makes the bass look more like the Deacon / Breadwinner guitars that inspired it.
