1. Will be adding some Peavey bass bins which match these well, soon as I get some pictures of them.
 2. That might actually be perfect for my band's mixer desk and 2U's worth of effects (now we've gone to active speakers). Will check and get back to you.
 3. Bought these less than a year ago as a stop-gap until we had enough money to replace our entire PA with a Mackie active system, which we've now done. They are still in excellent cosmetic condition, despite many gigs. Good for all-round PA applications and superb for vocals. 250W, 8Ohms. £160 ONO Can be collected from either Enfield or somewhere in Essex. Too expensive to courier but if can meet half-way or drop off for small consideration if a reasonable distance in either county.
 4. This has been running the band's PA for the last couple of years, either for just vocals or occasionally DJ music. Nothing taxing. Bought second hand and rack mounted ever since so in great shape. Would make a great power amp for a bass, as you can use it in bridged mono mode at 4Ohms (up to 2 cabs). Has been used twice a week for those 2 years without fail or trouble of any kind. We're moving to active PA speakers, so this is no longer needed. The new speakers were very expensive, so we want a quick sale hence £250 O.N.O. (plus £15 delivery). If you pay full price, will include a 4 pole speakon connector, so you can make a bridge cable. Watts per channel: 425 @ 8Ohm, 700 @ 4Ohm, 1200 at 2 Ohm Watts mono Bridged: 850 @ 16 Ohm, 1500 @ 8 Ohm, 2400 @ 4Ohm

Exclusive PowerLight power supply for superior bass and lighter weight
Ultra-low distortion (0.03% THD at 8 ohms) & studio-quality noise floor (-107 dB)
LED indicators include bridge mono and parallel input modes
Compact 2 RU, 21 lbs. and 13" deep chassis fits into any rack
Class H output reduces AC power draw and heat by 40%
Selectable clip limiters and subsonic filters reduce distortion and protect speakers
Variable-speed fan for low noise and solid 2 ohm performance
Both 1/4" TRS & XLR inputs, Speakon® and shock-proof binding post outputs
all this at 9.5 Kg! Has loads of very useful features, like 'mono mode'. Full info here: http://www.qscaudio.com/products/amps/plx/plx.htm Looks like this but will put up actual pics tomorrow.
 5. Let my voice join the chorus praising Happy Jack's mercantile excellence. Yay! Go Jack! Bought a gig bag from me, paid promptly and communicated throughout. No messing about at all.
 6. Actually, if there's one thing I'm not keen on it's the gloss finish on the back of the neck. Gets a bit sticky. Anyone got any advice on this point? Seem to remember someone saying some wire wool will take the shine off but not remove the protection of the finish.
 7.
Pics are obligatory at this point
Perhaps, if I remember to do it.
 8. The verdict: all the flavour, half the calories! It's a keeper. Honestly, with the right settings I'm hard pushed to tell the difference between this and the 'real' precision.
 9. [s]Unbranded padded soft bass case which has one large square and two narrow pockets on the front (suitable for straps, cables, etc). Handle and shoulder straps. £12.50[/s] SOLD Fender guitar strap. £8 Including postage. If bought together will do a deal on postage, naturally. Both are new and were included when I recently bought a bass. * Edit: soft case gone.
 10.
I bought this brand new in 1995 and it's been my number one bass ever since. Never had a problem with pickups or batteries. In fact the only things on it that aren't original are the straplocks. I find it easy to play and very versatile.
Cheers. Will keep a look out for a white one, yours looks sweet.
 11.
I'd suggest having a good go before doing anything rash - it does have it's own identity.
This is probably the best single bit of advice, I think. Generally, I'm getting the impression that the electronics are good and can hold their own. Which is great because I've really had enough of tinkering with basses, for the time being. Thanks everyone.
 12. Well, I've finally given in to my GAS and hit the button on a Fender Lyte on USA eBay. Having said that, from what I've read some people are really happy with the sound of their Lyte and some find it a bit weedy. The one I bought has the original pickups and electronics and I wondered what people's experiences of this bass were. Obviously too early to start thinking about changing the electronics but it seems like a fairly common mod on this bass. Discuss...
 13. Now on eBay.
 14.
I did say, "used to". And it's not up to the companies, these are statutory rights, so the law must have changed I guess. What length is your Comfort Strapp? Wanna sell it?
Wouldn't get enough to make it worthwhile and I like to have a spare for just about everything. Extract from http://www.onlineshoppingrights.co.uk/unde...ory-rights.html
Distance Selling When making purchases via distance selling methods, consumers are also covered by the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. The Distance Selling Regulations bring a European Directive into UK Law. It is always worth checking whether the supplier you are purchasing from is based within the UK or EU so that you know whether your UK consumer rights will apply. Distance Selling refers to purchases made when the consumer isn't physically present to complete the contract - for instance by mail order, digital television, email or via the Internet. These regulations ensure that consumers have access to written prior information (such as final costs, contact details of the supplier, delivery arrangements and cancellation policies) before making a final purchase. Under these regulations consumers also have what is commonly referred to as a 7 day cooling-off period. During this time consumers may examine the goods as they would in a shop, change their mind and cancel the contract. The supplier is then expected to make a full refund within 30 days of the delivery of goods or start of the provision of the service.
I guess some companies did or still do offer an extended cooling off period longer than the minimum but looks like the legal minimum is 7 days.
 15.
Mate, what a shame. I could've sworn the Distance Selling regs used to allow 14 days to return stuff :/ Have you tried a Comfort Strapp with it? They can make such a difference.
Nope, in this case it was 7 days. It was 14 in the past but most companies seem to have switched over to 7. Got caught out with a mobile phone recently, too. I've tried that strap (and just about every other one), yes. It's sitting at the bottom of my gig bag. This Neotech is the best strap I've tried by far.
 16. Took delivery of a brand spankin' new SR700-CN last week. As soon as I took it out of the box, I was amazed by the quality and workmanship and as for looks it's absolutely stunning. However, at 8lb 7oz it's the same weight as the G&L tribute I sold to buy it! That's the trouble with distance buying, innit? Deciding to give it a fair crack of the whip, I've practice with it standing up at home and although because of the shape it hangs a bit better, after a for a couple of hours the pain in my neck came back. It sounds incredible and plays like a dream. Unfortunately, it's now been over a week since I bought it so I can't send it back for a full refund so I guess I'll just have to take a hit on it and mark it up to experience. Will not keep it on here indefinitely, as I'm sure this would go pretty quick on eBay as it's in factory fresh condition, with only a couple of hours use. The cheapest you'll find it on-line is about £560, so will offer it out at £460 + del (O.V.N.O.). Here's a stock picture and the Ibanez blurb till I take some pics tomorrow. Neck Material: 5pc Jatoba/ Bubinga Neck Type: SR4 Body: Mahogany body/ Figured Maple top Frets: Medium frets Fingerboard: Rosewood Inlay: Abalone oval inlay Bridge: Accu-Cast B20 bridge NeckPU: Bartolini® MK1-4-F BridgePU: Bartolini® MK1-4-R EQ: EQB-IIIS HW Color: Cosmo Black
 17. Why hasn't someone snapped this up? I don't go for gloss necks or I'd have had it.....
 18. Sold on eBay and within a couple of hours. * nods to JMT3781
 19.
Bumparoo.
After price and collection was agreed, buyer pulled out after having delayed collection but asking me to keep it off the market. How annoying. So this is back up for sale for a limited time, then off to eBay.
 20.
You should stick this on eBay mate where Dj's and pa types can see it.. I think you may fetch a little more from personal experience..
Thanks for the advice, I might do but thought I'd offer it here first and try and save myself the hassle of evilBay. Especially when this makes such a great bass amp! Stereo / Parallel Mode Per Channel 8Ohm @ 215 W 4Ohm @ 375 W 2Ohm @ 600 W Bridge Mono 16Ohm @ 400 W 8Ohm @ 700 W 4Ohm @ 1200 W It's worth noting that I used it almost exclusively in bridge mono mode and mostly at 4Ohms and it sounded great: no distortion or overheating.
 21. Bought this off of Basschat (from Finbar) Sept 2009 and have been gigging it until the end of last year when a bout of GAS forced me to buy a Trace head. I have an old (heavy) power amp that I can fall back on should I have the need or desire, so this is surplus to requirements. 1200W bridged @ 4ohm. Can be used in stereo or parallel configurations for adding more cabs. Sub 30 and 50Hz filters (low-pass) as well as clip limiting. I have an electronic version of the manual, which I can send. Has been a fantastic amp and a great compliment to my TE V-Type preamp. Bought for £250 but will accept £225 inc. delivery (or a bit less if you collect). EDIT: added photos of amp. As you can see, there's minor rack rash from going in and out of rack cases but other than that in great cosmetic condition.
